Position Purpose & Summary
The Process Safety Advisor applies technical knowledge of process safety to deploy corporate standards for the management of hazardous processes.
This position will be a member of the regional process safety team providing leadership in the development of the strategies for the deployment, implementation, and sustainment of the Corporate Process Safety Risk Management (PSRM) standards to ensure a consistent and effective operationalization within the LATAM region.
This corporate position will be responsible to build process safety capabilities within the region and work with the sub-
regional EHS team and corresponding sites to provide the technical knowledge and assistance to ensure consistent implementation of Process Safety standards.
70% Process safety leadership -LATAM - CAMEX
Assist the Process Safety Director-LATAM to develop strategies for regional deployment of process safety control programs and the development of process safety expertise and capability
Build process safety capability within the EHS sub-regional team and corresponding sites
Educate plant leaders and PS practitioners in LATAM with knowledge of PSRM requirements and tools, as well as their accountabilities to manage process safety risks
Provide technical, regulatory and strategic consultation, support, and training on the Corporate Process Safety Risk Management requirements and tools to support local sites as they integrate Process Safety Risk Management within their operations and build a strong Process Safety Risk Management culture
Develop and execute ongoing stakeholder and change management processes, communication, and education activities within the region
Technical support of the deployment of process safety portfolio or projects in region (e.g. Consequence Modelling, Dust characterization, Building Risk Assessment (BRA) etc.)
Using expert knowledge to deliver guidance and training solutions related to Process safety practices
Operationalize programs accordingly to provide excellence in all regions by analyzing information received such as processes and policies, identifying areas of improvements.
20% Sustainment of Cargill Corporate Process safety Standards and data analysis
Assist the Process Safety Director -LATAM to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the corporate process safety standards including all related programs, practices, processes, tools, training, and communication
Support in risks analysis promoting capabilities and validating the analysis to assure high quality
Interface with Domains and Technology teams to deploy technologies that can help achieve EHS objectives and best practices in process safety
Monitor and analysis of leading process safety metrics for their region.
Actively participate as a member of the global process safety leadership team evaluating and assessing the performance of the corporate process safety standards
10% Sustainment and Continuous Improvement of Cargill Corporate Process safety Standards
Participate in work stream sub groups in the development and improvement of the corporate Process safety control programs, practices, tools, training and assessments
BS degreein Engineering or related field and a minimum of 8+ years of experience workingin Engineering, technical operations, project management and / or process safetymanagement, consultation.
Minimum 3years management / supervision experience.Proven ability to manage, lead, motivate and evaluate people.
Fundamentalunderstanding of industry leading practices in process safety management
Knowledgeof process safety regulations, standards, leading practices and RAGAGEPs
Demonstratedability to lead and direct people / projects in cross-background team.
Demonstratedto be collaborative, organized and detail orientated.
Fluent inin Spanish and English.
Intermediateproficiency in Microsoft office applications, and engineering / constructionapplications.
Ability totravel up to 50% of the time.
Ability tounderstand and navigate effectively through networks and across organizationalboundaries to gain support.
Useknowledge to advance science or technical knowledge to influence and help sitesimplement leading practices and solutions.
Ability toarticulate with site leadership and front-line management.
Demonstratedexcellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
BS degreein Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10+ years of experienceworking in Engineering, technical operations, project management and / or processsafety management, consultation.
Certified ProcessSafety professional through an external professional organization (i.e. ICHEME,CCPS, etc.).
Experienceworking with Global teams.
