Job scope / summary :
A Material Buyer within GSD Supply Chain is responsible for ensuring material supply through tactical procurement activities for all parts within assigned portfolio.
Job specifics / responsibilities :
Ensure all purchase orders are executed on timely manner with appropriate acknowledgement responses from suppliers.
Manage CRAY install kit inventory ordering process, determine action plan and appropriate escalation path to meet the installations deadline.
Work in close cooperation and alignment with CRAY installs coordinator for smooth and timely follow up, adjustments and additional focus if required.
Negotiate with suppliers to ensure shipment schedule will be met, or adjusted when needed, to fulfil the materials plan.
Monitor that all shipments are received into stock timely and all shipment documentation is available. Resolve warehouse receiving issues in due time.
Resolve invoice and payment issues with suppliers.
Produce supplier performance reports; take corrective actions as required.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on part-rolls and quality issues to minimize impact to parts availability and inventory level.
Explore and propose opportunities for systems & processes enhancement.
Key deliverables / accountabilities :
Accountable for timely purchase plan execution as per Cray installations requirements
Accountable for prompt escalations and continuous follow-up when target dates are at risk
Easitool ticket management
Maintain all activities related to Value Added Services
Strictly follow the established GSD SC and team processes and procedures

Supplier & Sourcing Team
Supply Chain Planning Team
CRAY installations coordinator
External : Repair Vendors
Education (degree) and professional experience required :
Degree in Logistics & Supply chain Mgmt / Business Operations / Maths / Statistics
Preferably 2+ years’ experience in planning / purchasing role
Strong knowledge in supply chain concepts, basic supplier management skills
Other requirements :
Fluent in English language

Ability to communicate effectively across national and cultural boundaries
Sense of urgency, confident in escalating and pushing for improvements / results
Proactiveness and high level of responsiveness
Good negotiation skills
Very good organization skills
Technical skills (procedures and documents the employee has to be acquainted with) :
Good computer skills, esp. MS office applications (Excel)
SAP / ERP system experience is a strong plus
