To accomplish that, the Long Term Retention Hub is looking for a Power and Performance Engineer.
This opportunity will allow you not only to do something wonderful; but also will give you Corporate level visibility, the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders around the world, but specially with US.
It is also a flexible position given the scope and type of work but includes working with aggressive and non-negotiable deadlines as well as handling highly sensitive, confidential information.
The position is expected to be a technical leader and a Power and / or Performance subject matter expert.
As a Power / Performance Engineer, the person will be responsible for :
Work with the Senior Technical Teams to understand Power and / or Performance implications of security mitigations in low-level software (such as uCode and BIOS), Operating System, and potentially hardware.
Execute on continuous improvement efforts based on input / interactions with Power and / or Performance Technical Team
Work with Power and / or Performance engineers to understand, execute and track characterization and volume validation test plans with a level of detail sufficient for the Technical Team to evaluate readiness for public patch release.
Facilitate the review of benchmark data and obtain guidance including approval for public patch release from Power and / or Performance perspective, and facilitate the design of follow-up experiments, mitigations, or recommendations as needed.
Identify root cause of Power and / or Performance related issues, propose and test solutions.
Active involvement in validation of current mitigations. This includes managing work carried out by different teams and orgs across Intel
Active involvement in technical discussions of upcoming mitigation efforts and planning for future performance validation activities.
Active involvement in response to customer issues, including replication of issues seen in the field.
Active participation in program management forums related to power and / or performance validation.
Support of ongoing efforts to normalize the effort's program.
Development of technical skills for this work in others.
May need to assertively promote his or her job priorities, and will need to negotiate scope and technical risk to meet deadlines.
This position may need to travel internationally, on occasion, if conditions allows.
