Job Description

This Business Development Director is key to deliver Sage Service Fabric Smart Transactions partner strategy, which will be key to enable the necessary services to render compliant sales invoices, facilitate their delivery, and automate the processing by any receiving party using Sage or not.

Regulation changes are revolutionising the way technology can enable invoicing connectivity and compliance across multiple ecosystems.

Sage is at the front of this revolution and requires a strong Business Development lead to own and deliver a winning partner strategy.

They will identify and deliver the vision, strategy, commercial arrangements, contractual agreements, and partners for a best-in-class partners’ relationship framework to support a growing ecosystem of Strategic Partnerships that are deeply integrated into Service Fabric that provide core Sage software services.

They will work closely with Product Management, Product Marketing, Product Development, Legal, Engineering and Partners to enable agile and innovative delivery which is commercially successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identification of strategic partnership opportunities with rigorous business cases, strategic rationale and financial analyses.
  • Use analytical tools and data analysis to drive decisions to grow partnerships, identify new areas of opportunity and demonstrate business impact to stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of current marketplace trends in eInvoicing and be the SME for internal Sage stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the overall vision, strategy, and execution plan.
  • Manage the full life cycle of partnerships and alliances -identifying, qualifying, analyzing, presenting, negotiating, and closing.
  • Retain oversight of the relationships to ensure they are optimized and managed in a structured approach and appropriate cadence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize the value of partnerships.
  • Negotiate legal and financial agreements, such as NDA’s & MSA’s, etc.
  • Qualifications :

  • Strong understanding of the invoicing process and regulations impacting it
  • AP and / or AR processes
  • Experience with cloud software
  • 5+ years in Payments & or Banking space
  • Experience in listening, probing, and interpreting the needs of various stakeholders
  • Financial compliance experience / knowledge is beneficial
  • Demonstrable experience of conceptual and strategic thinking
  • Strong understanding of revenue drivers and third-party commercial frameworks
  • Ability to lead commercial negotiations with 3rd parties
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and managing Partner business development and management strategies in a multinational, high tech company
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, strategic planning, and collaboration
  • Experience in developing and delivering robust business cases
  • Confident and highly effective influencer with a hands-on, pragmatic way of working
  • Preferred :

  • Experience operating in a matrix management organization
