Description

Responsible for performing moderate to low complexity trade compliance operations activities and executing routine tasks and procedures.

This role requires collaboration across business units, problem solving skills and ability to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities : 80% EXECUTE TRADE COMPLIANCE OPERATIONS ACTIVITIES

  • Executes trade compliance operations activities within limited supervision following department procedures and controls
  • Executes the GTOC goals for value preservation and risk mitigation within their single location team
  • Validates and coordinates import / export transactional requirements applicable to documents and data
  • Applies a limited technical understanding of trade compliance operations practices and procedures to ensure execution of trade compliance operations transactions
  • With limited supervision, reviews or prepares documents (e.g. invoices, preferential trade documentation, commercial invoices, customs documentation, etc.
  • ensuring they are per legal and fiscal requirements, using a basic knowledge of global trade compliance operations practices and procedures

  • Supports cross border logistics and transportation (to maintain efficiencies and for conflict resolution)
  • Support and monitor cargo in transit to ensure timely shipping schedule, border crossing and compliance with local and overseas customs authorities.
  • Ensure efficiencies and compliance with free time demurrage

  • Executes and follows up on customs clearance & import / export filing process with customs brokers to ensure compliant and on time border crossing
  • Using defined procedures and controls, prepares and submits, with limited supervision, import and export instructions to customs brokers for preparing customs declaration forms (including SAP / GTS forms and EDI transmissions).
  • With limited supervision, resolves hold, notifications and compliance alerts triggered by import / export declarations (Customs & OGA / PGA), and escalates when necessary following department procedures
  • 10% DATA MANAGEMENT / ANALYSIS & REPORTING

  • Processes data entry activities to facilitate cross border execution and data analysis
  • With limited supervision, may prepare internal and external reports, including market data requested by Businesses or Functions
  • Collects, organizes, analyzes, measures, evaluates and reports requited data sets of a single-site or process area.
  • Provides information and interacts with other service areas in Cargill to support new customer or vendor setup (including SAP / GTS)
  • Maintains records & complies with records retention policy
  • Updates customs master files and supports compliance with Records and Information Management policies and controls
  • With limited supervision prepares reports and sets of data to support duty / tax reconciliation and duty drawback claim process
  • Gathers data, documents and reports requested by internal or external audits, and submits to Compliance Analysts for review
  • Verifies customs service providers invoices for payment as well as fees & other charges (duties / taxes) levied by Customs pertaining to imports and exports
  • 10% CLIENT INTERACTION AND BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

  • Supports the global trade compliance operations effort in support of business, enterprise and functional business plans through execution of responsibilities
  • Collaborates cross-functionally, internally and externally to effectively execute cross border solutions
  • Effectively communicates with stakeholders in the region to provide status updates on requests
  • Actively participates in working discussions and maintains an open partnership with other GTOC Teams to identify and solve gaps in the CI process
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to collect information, data and documents needed to fulfil service requests
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Required Qualifications :

  • 3 years of experience in international commerce
  • Associates Degree in a related field of customs, import / export
  • Minimum 50% of English both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft outlook and office, expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Financial acumen, strong analytical skills
  • Incoterms knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) module
  • Demonstrated client / customer focus role and strong relationship builder
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-Starter highly motivated with demonstrated initiative
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
  • Proven experience on how to get things done within a matrix organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities, at any given time
