Job Description

We are looking for a Support Engineer to improve and maintain the technology infrastructure of our Consumer facing business units.

This person will be the first point of contact for incident management.

Work with the business to understand their problems while also working with the development and product team to find solutions.

Our technology platform manages thousands of homes and billions of dollars of investment capital. The data and software required to handle such an operation is diverse.

We build data infrastructure and tools to buy, renovate, and manage homes at scale. We build consumer brands and apps to lease and

sell homes direct-to-consumer.

  • Be the first to respond to incidents reported from Amherst consumer technology and business users.
  • Work with and learn from the Amherst Engineering Team
  • Become an expert user of the Tools and Applications you support, enabling you to confidently guide users through the proper use of these complex systems
  • Find the quick fix, but also work with the Engineering Team to find and implement the long-term solutions.
  • Work across various technology stacks and platforms to help our end users. On a regular basis, you will work with technologies like MSSQL, Splunk, AWS, Git, Jira, Confluence, Office Suite, REST APIs, and some automation
  • Gain experience and become a knowledge resource for Amherst built software products using languages like JavaScript, C#, SQL (good T-SQL knowledge required)
  • Learn best practices and patterns from Senior Software Engineers
  • Become a trusted representative of your user’s needs- translate complaints and questions into actionable suggestions for the Engineers, helping them improve and maintain existing applications and services.
  • Work cross-functionally with other members of the technology team

  • 1+ years' experience in technology
  • BS / BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science is a plus
  • An eagerness to help end-users find workarounds and fix technology bugs.
  • Experience with Software Engineering, or Technology Administration
  • Experience developing applications using React Framework / Javascript
  • English B2+
  • Experience creating / developing code in a professional environment
  • Experience being part of a development team.
