Job Summary

This position provides technical support for desktop computing, local area networks, servers, labs, applications, and other Information Technology systems and services for a range of Administrative Departments that are supported by the Division of IT.

The incumbent establishes and maintains working relationships with customers, provides end-user support for systems and applications, configures and maintains systems, recommends changes to improve productivity and services, troubleshoots and resolves problems, develops practices and procedures, creates documentation, manages workstation procurement requests, and performs highly technical work to support customers and systems.

This position also provides support to other areas and projects covered by the Division of IT, as needed.

  • Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft Windows based workstation & server management including file sharing and print servers
  • Strong knowledge of alternative operating systems (macOS, Linux, Unix)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, databases, and other office productivity technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of security access, network protocols, monitoring systems, and control
  • Extensive understanding of network connectivity (wired and wireless) as related to all operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to operate workstation imaging solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to train non-technical users on applications and hardware
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively provide end users with effective solutions by gathering requirements and making technical recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct work on assigned projects, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete large, complex projects with strict time constraints

  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and replace internal computer components
  • Ability to train technicians on new technologies
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of stud
  • Three years of experience supporting information systems and technology
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with providing excellent customer service to end-users
  • Experience developing documentation and providing training for end-users
  • Experience with Active Directory environment
  • Experience with Enterprise deployment and MDM systems such as MDT, Intune, or Jamf
