About the team :
This is an opportunity to join the Technology Finance organization acting as a subject matter authority on systems and data for eBay Marketplaces.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate their extensive systems, project management and process knowledge to be able to analyze, communicate and consolidate financial data analyses from multiple systems to supply substantial results to a winning organization.
The successful candidate will find him / herself surrounded by sharp professionals operating in a fast-paced, intellectual, and team collaboration environment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :
Financial Planning and Analysis, Forecasting, Budgeting, Operating, Expense Management for eBay’s Core Technology organization
Responsible for the monthly close process, which includes month end reviews, accruals, journal entries, flux analysis and accurate financial reporting
Drive analysis of cost trends and articulate related cause and effect business partners
Work closely with Controllership team to coordinate compliance with GAAP, ensure that the relevant financial control processes are used and appropriate audit trail maintained at all times
Build and maintain positive relationships with various parts of the business to understand their needs and / or requests, and challenge methodologies to ensure balance between shareholders, customer and business partner expectations
Be a relevant business partner that helps guide decisions by providing a clear understanding of the value of investments and business decisions : ability to challenge based on trends and variance analysis
Continuously find opportunities to automate and streamline processes to reduce cycle time and churn in all operations planning processes
Assist in the development of business strategy and maintain a high level of communication with all levels of eBay Management, including facilitating meetings and communicating analysis
Experience and qualifications required :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
Passionate about business and the related performance
3+ years of finance experience with exposure to different areas (business analysis, accounting, FP&A, etc.)
Experience with financial systems such as SAP BPC, SAP BW, etc.
Ability to present and impact decision making at all levels of the organization
Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record to partner effectively with all functions and levels within the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and manage timelines
Ability to perform in a matrix organization with multiple partners with a high degree of complexity and ambiguity
The ideal candidate will have outstanding technical skills with spreadsheets, presentations, along with proven financial analysis capabilities
