Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the building and facilities.

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the company’s equipment, building(s) and grounds that minimizes interruptions in operations and ensures employee safety.

Manages maintenance budget and develops programs to extend equipment life, reliability and safe operation.

Also, responsible for the efforts to meet or exceed all local EHS&S goals, by implementing policies and procedures in alignment with corporate mandates.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

Facilities Management

  • Responsible for all contractors on site, including selection, training, safety, and invoicing.
  • Participates in all government and customer audits of the facility
  • Leads communication with appropriate external regulatory agencies related to facilities.
  • Ensures that accurate and up-to-date regulatory documentation, including mandated updates, reviews and follow up item are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensures facility meets all required local, state and corporate requirements.
  • Manages programs to keep tools and equipment in designated areas; schedules cleaning of equipment, warehouse, and office areas;
  • maintains strict rodent and pest control.

  • Coordinate major projects such as plant layouts, facility upgrades and installation of capital equipment, also, responsible for all internal / external modifications of the facilities, structures, systems, and grounds.
  • Maintains record-taking policies for all systems within the facility.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs. Handle insurance plans, and guidelines
  • Provides vehicles, buildings, company grounds and general maintenance service as needed.
  • Tours warehouse on a regular basis to ensure buildings and equipment are safe and ready to operates.
  • Monitors all materials handling equipment (MHE) maintenance activities, making sure that all equipment is serviced as required.
  • Enforces established safety, health, contamination and housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the Hazardous Waste Program, ensure compliance in the operation and establish contingency plans. Determine materials to waste, coordinate pickups, maintain inventories, record waste amounts, maintain file of manifests, includes also no-
  • hazardous waste and universal waste (batteries and lamps). Keep log of all expenditures. Sign all manifests.

  • Monitors security systems and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Interacts with trash hauling and salvage companies to ensure that services are provided.
  • Tracks building and equipment repair and monitoring preventive maintenance programs.
  • Request parts, supplies, and fuel necessary to perform required maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • EHS&S

  • Manage the Health, Safety and Security program. Special Role as Spill Team Leader. Ensures compliance with appropriate government regulations related to the field of responsibility.
  • Drive and monitor personnel efforts to comply with the Environmental Safety, Health and Security (EHS&S) programs.
  • QUALIFICATIONS (Education / Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • Technical degree, Bachelor s degree, preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a factory or maintenance environment
  • Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience with cGMP regulated industries and laboratory operations preferred
  • Driver’s License
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Knowledge in computers (Microsoft office, lotus or similar).
  • Ability to be flexible with your schedule as needed.
  • Ability to read / write and do basic math.
  • Ability to sort and assemble materials.
  • Basic safety knowledge.
  • Ability to drive vehicles and forklifts.

    Physical effort is required. Work require walking, standing,

    bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 25 lbs.
