IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

  • PURPOSE OF POSITION :

    The Workday Project Manager will report to the Workday Project Management & Business Analyst Lead as part of the wider Workday Implementation Project.

    The role will ensure that the functionality of the Workday system is deployed and utilised throughout the World Vision Partnership by managing cross-functional, moderate to high complex projects within the overall programme.

    They must work with others in the Workday Implementation Team on resource allocation and prioritisation as the Workday Project delivers on multiple priorities.

    Individuals serving in this role require proven managerial skills even though the role is not a designated people manager.

    They have excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate vision, mission, and goals to both business and P&C audiences, whilst maintaining project timelines.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide a high level of expertise in the application of the tools and techniques of the project management discipline, using established project standards and procedures.
  • Works with the project leadership to define / refine the project scope.
  • Develops, and continually updates, project plans and schedules.
  • Identifies project dependencies prior to the start of the project where possible and adapts as needed to further information.
  • Facilitates the gathering of information required to estimate project resources, time and deliverables.

  • Prepares all project management baseline products.
  • Ensures that the project outcome reflects the goals of the project leadership.
  • Maps all project high level timelines, milestones and deliverables, their interdependencies and dependencies for senior leadership review, guidance
  • Recommends and takes action to direct analysis and solution of problems to resolve issues throughout projects
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with business owners, project sponsors, vendors and key clients.
  • Works with Workday Project Leaders to determine needed people resources to effectively align resources across projects.
  • Develops and maintains risk plans, processes and systems in order to mitigate risk.
  • Communicate effectively to convey project scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests and critical issues to the client and project team.
  • Report status, progress, risks & issues of the projects at regular intervals to leadership. Creating simple and easy to understand reporting mechanisms.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

    Essential

  • Requires 2-3 years of HR (P&C) work experience, including 2 or more years managing projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience.
  • MSP (Managing Successful Programs) Certification or Program Management Professional Certification (PMP), or Prince2 Project Management Certification or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience -

  • Experience in Workday
  • Business and technical knowledge of World Vision and its core values and operating model
  • Must be highly self-motivated and driven to succeed in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the project teams, senior managers, and third-party service providers
  • Ability to lead by influence to deliver strong performance from the project team
  • Ability to build productive relationships with business stakeholders of varied backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to manage expectations of business customers and senior management by proactive planning and frequent, intentional communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and virtual influencing skills
  • Excellent oral, written communication skills and ability to present well to a variety of audiences
  • Experience working with virtual teams
  • Strong analytical, organisational, problem solving, diagnostic, collaboration, facilitation, and time management skills; solution-oriented.
  • Work Environment / Travel :

  • To keep costs to a minimum most of this project will be handled virtually however there may be a possibility of international travel up to 10% of the time.
