JOB DESCRIPTION :
This position provides leadership and guidance for the Quality Assurance Laboratories departments supporting Abbott Vascular Costa Rica.
Responsible for developing goals, objectives, procedures, policies and systems that are in line with company goals and objectives, mission and vision and FDA / ISO regulations.
Daily responsibilities include managing activities and areas that support the shared Quality Services within Abbott Vascular Costa Rica to ensure change management, quality compliance and product release activities are executed and tracked in accordance with Abbott Quality System requirements and FDA / ISO regulations.

Develops, monitors and appropriately adjusts the annual budget for department(s) with assistance from management.
Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion. Understands the business needs of the company and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business.
Cultivates internal and external network of resources to complete tasks. Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.
Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers. Serves as a consultant for supply chain, engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters.
Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance;
Acts as a spokesperson to external suppliers
Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources.
Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying
progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
Monitors daily work operations and provides direction and guidance to lower-level supervisors, experienced exempt employees, or skilled nonexempt staff to achieve unit or project goals.
Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.
Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit.
Contributes to the development of operational policies and procedures that affect personnel within the assigned organizational unit.
Monitors internal and external indicators by reviewing reports and newsletters, reading organizational literature, meeting with peers and reading departmental reports.
Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budget through regular analysis of cost and spending.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
7+ years of related work experience
