We are looking for a Senior DBA with MySQL, RDS and AWS experience to join our expanding team in a fast-growing start-up environment for a San Francisco-based client. Must reside and have work authorization in Costa Rica, El Salvador or Colombia to apply. 

The ideal candidate has: 

• AWS: 3-5 years (Required)
• Database administration: 3-5 years (Required)
• 5+ years of experience as a DBA preferred with a progression into AWS or similar cloud platform
• Able to support RDS databases such as Dynamo DB, RedShift, Postgres database and SQL server Database
• Able to support Non-RDS database on EC2 such as Postgres database, MS SQL, Dynamo DB and Redshift databases
• Experience using google BigQuery 
• Monitoring and auditing using CloudWatch (alerts)
• Developing CloudFormation scripts
• Manage database security and ensure data and databases are fully secured and comply with cybersecurity policy.
• Experience with DB platform transactional management, indexing strategies and maintenance, backup and recovery models, and performance tuning.
• Apply latest DB patches for non-RDS databases as deemed necessary.
• Proactive monitoring and performance tuning from AWS cloud infrastructure, database level and query tuning.
