The role

People are at the center of everything we do. Our People team fuels eBay’s success through development of leadership capabilities, diverse talent, organization, culture and operational excellence.

To accomplish this objective, continuing the company’s growth, globalization, and development, eBay is in search of a Director, People Business Partner to support eBay’s North America team.

This role will report to a Sr. Director of People.

The ideal candidate will be an influential leader, capable of working with a diverse group of senior leaders with varying styles.

This Director will be responsible for understanding the business objectives of eBay’s biggest business, our North America business, providing the appropriate people expertise, strategic input, insight, process and / or programs to support the organization.

This candidate must be capable of working in and through a global matrix management environment with both business leaders and People peers.

Responsibilities :

Strategic People Business Partner : Understand the business and teams supported, top to bottom. Partner with business leaders to develop business objectives and plans understanding how to design and implement People strategies to ensure the organization, capabilities and culture all assist in delivering a great experience for our customers.

Holistic People Management : Understand eBay’s overall strategic direction and Shared Purpose. Provide the appropriate People programs, strategies and processes pertinent to rewards & compensation, recruiting, talent management / OD, employee relations, DE&I and learning to achieve business results.

Bring to bear all People programs, policies, processes and systems.

Executive Coaching and Organizational Effectiveness : Strengthen the senior leadership team of each function by providing coaching and counsel to senior executives to further develop their leadership capability.

Partner with senior executives and leadership teams of the client organizations to design and build organizational capability to deliver against the strategic goals and growth objectives of the businesses.

People Organization Leader : Improve People capability by partnering with other members of the People team to develop and implement new and / or improved programs and processes.

Bring new People expertise and capability to the eBay People team. Participate in the ongoing development of the people org strategic direction for the business and company.

Job requirements :

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of human resources experience (people), with minimum 6+ years in an increasingly senior and complex global business environment, influencing and driving results.

Strong eye for business that includes a clear understanding of market trends, competition, company policies, procedures, and culture

Strong partner management skills that include the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict and influence change.

Strong leadership and coaching skills.

Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design and implement creative processes and solutions that drive business results.

Strategic thought leadership, thinks analytically and solves complex issues and challenges.

Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong team player with the ability to facilitate team building, develop effective partnerships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
