Responsible for the development of manufacturing methods to produce and bring to market advanced technology products.
Works under the direction of the Engineering Project Manager in the development of new processes, introduction of new products, cost reduction projects and capital justifications.
Iterate with Product Development Engineers while the product is in the early stages of design to offer creative design & production options to address manufacturability and present its anticipated financial impact.
Understand the clinical challenges that the product is trying to address and be able to explain how the new system works to others once it is defined.
Guide the internal and / or external supplier(s) in systematically developing robust manufacturing processes. (Six Sigma & Lean experience is preferred.)
Work with multiple project schedules and manage competing priorities.
Demonstrate project and process planning and execution skills to ensure regulatory requirements (e.g. design control) and process / product goals (e.
g. process capability) are met.
Identify specification needs / requirements & assist with the creation of specifications.
Participate in risk management (analysis, evaluation, mitigation, & control) activities.
Interface with Production Supervision, Tool Design, and Tool & Die, and Maintenance with respect to manufacturing method, tooling, and equipment.
Interfaces with Quality concerning critical aspects for inspection procedures and gages on new products.
Proficiency in Speaking English
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other appropriate engineering or engineering technology discipline, Master’s degree preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in engineering to include the development of new processes, new products, product costs, cost reductions, capital justifications, and capital equipment acquisition.
GD&T knowledge / experience
Experience / knowledge with process characterization, analysis, control and validation utilizing statistical tools (Six Sigma methodologies and experience)
Process experience / knowledge with (all or some) : machining of metals and / or plastic (e.g. lathe, mill, CNC, EDM, multi-axis equipment), casting, forging, grinding, finishing, assembly, etc.
Lean Manufacturing experience
