Job Summary
The University is seeking a Deputy Title IX and Gender Equity Officer to join its growing team. Reporting to the Title IX and Gender Equity Officer, the Deputy Title IX and Gender Equity Officer will engage in the following duties and responsibilities, as outlined below :
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the work of internal and external investigators by ensuring adherence of investigators to all applicable law, policies, and procedures;
advise and guide investigators regarding revision or modification of reports, correspondence, and / or related documentation, as necessary and appropriate;
set and monitor deadlines for investigators; and ensure the timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of all steps related to the various resolution processes, including formal and informal resolutions.
Supervise the professional development of a team of approximately two (2) investigators and a Title IX Analyst and is responsible for their training and professional development, including the establishment of performance goals;
conducting performance appraisals, at midpoint and annually, as well as providing periodic, timely feedback throughout the appraisal period;
and any merit / promotion recommendations.
Conduct intake meetings with parties to explain the available resources, supports, and resolution options, including the option to file a formal complaint, the option to pursue formal or informal resolution, and the option to access supportive measures with or without the filing of a formal complaint.
Make recommendations to the Title IX and Gender Equity Officer regarding emergency removal and mandatory and discretionary dismissals.
Supervise / manage prompt, fair, thorough formal and informal resolutions, including live hearings, in consultation with the Title IX and Gender Equity Officer.
Assist with the creation of office materials that help to communicate the Title IX Office’s mission and clarify the various resolution options.
Identify training needs for faculty, staff, and students as reflected by issues, situations, or complaint trends.
Develop and maintain close collaborations with a broad cross section of University community members, including faculty, staff, and students.
Assist the Title IX and Gender Equity Officer with database management efforts, campus climate surveys, and other initiatives to support the work of the Title IX team and the mission and values of the University, in particular those designed to promote an inclusive community.
Assist with training for internal and external investigators, as well as in providing training and education programs about the University’s resolution processes to University community members.
Serve as Acting Title IX and Gender Equity Officer in the absence of the Title IX and Gender Equity Officer.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or terminal degree in related field
Experience in Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Clery, Title VII, Family Education and Privacy Act (FERPA), and related civil rights in higher education and employment law and policy
Five (5) years of experience in Title IX
Experience conducting and / or managing Title IX investigations in higher education and employment
Supervisory or management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from accredited law school or Master’s degree or terminal degree in related field

Seven (7) years of experience
Experience in a higher education, judicial, or regulatory compliance setting
Experience in conducting alternative resolutions, such as mediation, alternative dispute resolution, etc.
Experience developing, facilitating, and evaluating educational and training programs in the area of civil rights
Title IX-specific supervisory or management experience

Anticipated Hiring Range : $10,000 / month - $10,417 / month
