Support the General Accounting Team Leader to ensure all deliverables are successfully achieved including operational performance, people management, and adherence to compliance requirements
Participate in or lead special projects that require innovative and analytical skills
Provide guidance to the R2R accountants as needed
Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of Pfizer’s financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls
Assist in automating processes utilizing innovative technical and processing solutions
Ensure correct US GAAP cash balances accuracy.
Provide insight to management on business performance through metrics within Record-to-Report processes
Prepare reports of findings and recommendations to site Finance leadership
Monitor the execution of period end financial close activities and meet all related deadlines
Prepare monthly journal entries as needed and serve as a SME to other Record-to-Report Cash CoE colleagues
Preform flux analysis for cash balances
Handle accounting policy and procedure inquiries and ad hoc reporting and analysis requests; provide periodic customer / site training
Ensure customer needs and relationships are fulfilled and enhanced through proactive involvement and interaction
Develop and assist in automating processes utilizing innovative technical and processing solutions
Review monthly bank account reconciliations
Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and support control documentation requirements (SOX)
BS Degree or equivalent in Accounting is required
Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in Accounting
Proficiency in Personal Computer skills and financial applications is essential
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups and individuals
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required
SAP / JDE experience preferred
Advanced English skills and other language such as Portuguese ,French, Hebrew, Russian or German desired
