Summary of Role

  • This is an IT Client & Security Provisioning Engineer position within the Emerson Service Delivery and Operations organization (SD&O).
  • The job holder will have ownership of the technical provisioning of Client & Security services as defined by Emerson IT.

    Main covered services / activities are the following : ELMS (Endpoint Lifecycle Managed Service), Active Directory migration, Client Patching and any other Client services requiring technical provisioning.

  • Area to be covered is North America and Latin America but may expand to other areas on assignment basis. She / he will be responsible to deliver agreed levels of services to internal customers and to use associated applications, technology and infrastructure supporting delivery of these services in an ITIL inspired environment.
  • Emerson IT Services span a variety of businesses, sites and user base count, going from small sales offices to large manufacturing and engineering facilities, serving 62,000 users and 500 sites worldwide
  • Specific Responsibilities


  • Be responsible for the technical provisioning of all Client & Security services in NALA, according to Service Delivery & Onboarding definitions and standards, providing high skills and experience during the execution of such implementations.
  • Role may expand to other world areas on assignment basis.

  • Promote efficiency in all working practices
  • Follow and enforce Emerson policies and rules regarding relevant IT management, security, standards and procedures, liaise with other teams when required
  • Maintain the required level of skills to meet expected level of service
  • Be prepared to take on other duties within own area of expertise, as assigned
  • Technical Provisioning

  • Provide the Site low level designs according to the Client & Security Services definitions and standards, mainly for large and / or complex implementations.
  • Support the provisioning project team during the implementation phase if / where more advanced skills are required.
  • Validate the Site design documentation and its implementation if executed by SD&O Client & Security Operations team or a subcontractor (technical sign-off).
  • Contribute to initial assessments for Acquisitions and 2020 Vision, analysing the given situation and providing the technical expertise on requirements to provision Client & Security services (ELMS and Active Directory migration)
  • Be available as a consultant for and transition knowledge to SD&O Client & Security Operation team for Client & Security service related topics.
  • If required, collaborate with subcontractors in promoting the right best practices / standards to guarantee smooth implementation and efficient transition to the SD&O Network Operation team after switch-over.
  • Report to the Service Owner and relevant parties any need for deviation for review and validation
  • Make sure that configurations changes are executed in full respect of Change Management process and procedures
  • Be instrumental in any Go-No / Go decision, insuring Business continuity
  • Closely collaborate with the Provisioning Coordinator and escalate any deviation in the execution of own tasks
  • Be the trusted bridge between the SD&O organization and the Services Design and Transition teams
  • Collaborate with ELMS and Active Directory Service Owners and any relevant IT organizations to improve the global Service
  • Be the actor of the CSI process and report any need for improvement to optimize the Service Provisioning and its support (design, process, test and release, tools, documentation )
  • Participate to the necessary documentation and procedures definition and maintenance
  • Education / Qualification Requirements of the Role


  • Education to degree level or equivalent, but experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Telephony technical rollouts
  • ITIL or equivalent awareness or certification
  • Language knowledge : fluent in business English (speaking / writing); any other languages are considered an advantage
  • Qualifications

  • Specialist and in his area of expertise knowledge of current trends in the specific field (AD, GPO, LANDesk / Ivanti, scripting, Windows 10, Patching), plus good understanding of peripheral environments (e.g., Server)
  • Professional certifications as appropriate
  • Strong, demonstrable customer focus, diplomatic savvy
  • Effective communicator
  • oExcellent documentation and procedure writing skills

    oAbility to interact with both specialist and non-specialist audience

    oAbility to manage challenge of remote communications through multiple tools (Instant Messaging, e-mail, phone, project management interface)

  • Project Management experience
  • Ready to travel (10 % of the time)

  • Strong analytical capabilities and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Open mind and flexible attitude towards the ambiguity inherent to a large-scale IT reorganization
