The Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations leads the marketing strategy, investment portfolio (>

$500M budget) and effectiveness team. In this role, will join a growing, high-energy, innovative team and will play a meaningful role in the development, implementation and evolution of Adobe’s marketing efforts.

More specifically, you will build the global strategy and priorities, drive the budget, and identify, scope and plan for new operational and marketing capacity that drive innovation and growth for Adobe.

This Strategy and Ops role will lead the planning team responsible for owning and advancing three significant marketing motions :

  • Marketing Strategy Develop and evolve the portfolio strategy for marketing across categories and customer audiences, aligning teams to the same north star goals and prioritization.
  • Marketing Investments Drive the variable marketing investment plan across categories, geographies and marketing channels.
  • Work across teams to reflect the strategy and priorities in how we invest our variable marketing dollars and headcount. Optimize the budget by providing transparency for key spend and performance data and insights.

  • Marketing Effectiveness Inform strategy and investments through a data-driven view of our marketing performance, by aligning marketing to unified metrics and driving consistent marketing performance reviews across acquisition, engagement, and retention motions.
  • What you'll do

  • Own the budget. Evolve the marketing investment framework. Articulate the case for investment decisions and trade-offs across priorities and incubation programs to drive the current business as well as future growth.
  • Lead portfolio marketing strategy (annually + quarterly) across categories, including variable budgets and performance insights that lead to innovative approaches.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Analytics and business leaders to develop practical marketing plans
  • Derive insights from our data-driven operating model, competitive intelligence and marketing trends to evolve our long-term strategy and bring a POV on new marketing capabilities that need to be built to grow.
  • Develop and implement frameworks and tools for budgeting and decision-making that balances priorities across the portfolio of products.
  • Develop new operating models (org structure, process, tools, metrics) to increase marketing effectiveness and business performance.
  • Preempt and tackle problems on critical operational issues (clearing roadblocks to get things done ) and opportunities.
  • Drive the marketing operations engine through core rhythms of the business e.g. Annual Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, Campaign Strategy Reviews, Prep for Product Launches, etc.
  • What you need to succeed

  • BS / BA with 8+ years tech, agency or management consulting experience
  • Outstanding team leadership and cross-functional influencing skills
  • Experience in planning, budgeting and strategy (in marketing planning specifically is a plus)
  • Analytical, data-driven approach that can rapidly assess a business problem, structure and evaluate options, and implement
  • Exceptional written and spoken communicator, structured problem solver, resourceful, and persistent
  • Articulate the rationale for decision and decision-making in a way that is clearly understand and instills confidence in the strategy
  • Ability to quickly deliver executive-level presentations and communications which enable us to align on innovative ways and act on them effectively
  • Understand ecommerce and subscription business models a plus
  • Thrive in matrixed environments across customer segments, product categories, routes to market and geographies
  • Adobe’s marketing strategy team orchestrates the global marketing strategy, planning and variable marketing spend for industry-leading products such as Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Creative Cloud Express, Substance and Acrobat.
