Job Description: Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Financial Analyst plays a strategic role in the finance teams' accounting, financial analysis, and business decision support for the Biomerics Athens, Texas facility. The successful Financial Analyst is a highly motivated, inquisitive, and results-oriented financial professional who has proven interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and interact at all levels of the organization. The Financial Analyst will office in Costa Rica and provide support for our Texas facility.

Specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect, analyze, and report on cost information to support decision making
    • Development of flexible, interactive models from scratch (KPI's, dashboards, assist with due diligence on acquisitions, etc.)
  • Develops, interprets, and implements financial models to determine present and future financial performance
    • Analyze hourly wages to determine the maximum impact for hiring employees and P&L impact
    • Analyze overhead spending and determine opportunities for cost-cutting
    • Evaluate cost/benefit to the company for potential outsourcing scenarios
  • Manage/update standard cost data
  • Track and understand variations in inventory levels
  • Analyze capital budgeting requests
    • Determine ROI on potential capital investments
  • Identify opportunities and lead/develop recommendations for continuous process and margin/profitability improvements
  • Work with the manufacturing group to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
  • Additional support for
    • The month-end close process
    • Operational improvement projects
    • Preparation of the annual budget process
  • Ad hoc support and special projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • Manufacturing experience is required (medical device industry is a plus)
  • Proficiency in building Interactive Models, KPI's and Dashboards
  • Proficient computer and ERP skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly organized; Able to successfully balance numerous competing priorities
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
