Job Description :
To assist in the administration of transportation support services within assigned plants, product divisions, branches and distribution center.
To perform routine activities aimed at achieving quality requirements, cost effective transportation alternatives and customer service.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Provides basic tactical operational assistance and analysis within assigned locations regarding carrier routing and mode selection, transportation performance standards and carrier optimization.
Acquires basic knowledge of product divisions, shipping / receiving locations, carriers of products and customer requirements.
Develops effective communication skills for interfacing with assigned locations.
Assists other work group analysts in completing assigned transportation operations and analytical tasks. Also, assists work group analysts in monitoring changes to procedures at assigned locations to satisfy transportation objectives.
Develops and maintains a basic working knowledge of transportation information systems to assist in the preparation of basic distribution studies applicable to area of assignment.
Completes special projects assigned by supervisor or other work group analysts under close supervision. Acquires additional logistics and human resource education and training courses as needed.
Responsible for monitoring work queues for new requests.
Responsible for completing assigned tasks within SLA targets (i.e. ticket resolution, logistics execution, etc.)
May include training and ERP deployment support pre-and / or post go-live
Participate in ERP Process Integration Testing (PIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and / or Day in the Life Testing (DITL) scenarios
Identifies escalation trends and opportunities for process change and / or new solutions.
Undertakes all actions required by system and updates database continually.
Investigates and resolves problems and provides solutions which may involve a network of resources.
Assists in identifying areas to improve communications and efficiency of operations and implementing changes. Partners with clients in improving processes by recommending solutions and referrals to policies / procedures, SMEs or contracted vendors.
The job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree (or advanced studies) from an accredited university in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
Minimum 1 -2 years equivalent work experience in Logistics, Customs (Import and Export), Returning Goods and / or Transportation (Tracking, clearance, record, receiving)
Fully Bilingual : English and Spanish (French is a plus)
Experience in Trade Compliance requirements for Import and Export, country of origin, INCOTERMS, HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule)
Experience performing restricted party screening, end use, end user and anti-boycott screenings, and others such as TradeSphere
Experience related to country of origin, import and export classification and certificate of origin
Customs and Logistics Terminology
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Working experience with SAP (ERP applications)
Customer service skills
Excellent Communication skills (oral & written)
Detail oriented / accurate and thorough
Individual must be detail oriented, self-directed and have strong independent problem solving skills.
