Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Responsible for leading and managing a team of up to 6 AVOC Group Managers and up to 600 Associates covering daily and mixed shifts, including weekends.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, quality and productivity of the operations, within a very fast-paced / time-critical and demanding environment.
  • Set the vision, direction and culture of the operations teams by managing individual and team performance expectations and goals, monitoring real time results and schedule adherence, and holding their teams accountable to meet and exceed performance targets.
  • Lead team and department meetings, effectively communicating goals, discussing current issues, and motivating teams to action.
  • They also mediate employee issues, involving HR staff when appropriate.

  • Successful Operations Managers identify the individual strengths of team members and contribute to talent advancement along with succession planning opportunities within the company.
  • Interviewing and hiring employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strategic planning and forecasting
  • Appraising performance, rewarding and coaching employees
  • Managing special projects that relate to operations, continuous improvement and efficiencies, communicating project status and results to AVOC direct staff.
  • Nurture a culture within the team that consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles; visibly ties department decisions to leadership principles and tenets.
  • Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (Any Stream)
  • Previous experience as an Operations or Group manager directly leading and developing front-line managers
  • Experience in understanding performance metrics and developing them to measure progress against key performance indicators
  • Experience with process improvement / quality control tools and methods
  • Track record of employee development (including an emphasis on selection and retention).
  • Demonstrated leadership skill with a bias toward action, supporting a culture of ownership and learning.
  • Skilled in collaborative management environment, succeeding through regular meetings and clear formal and informal communication with members of the management team.
  • Can adapt well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency verbal and written communication skills in English, Spanish.
  • Excel trained with an ability to utilize and manage multiple data sources in order to assess performance.
  • Strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma / Lean Processes
  • Project Management·
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of successful managerial experience, leading large teams in a related and progressively responsible position.
  • Advanced computer skills using a variety of programs highly desired.
  • Lead large-scale process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma
