The IT Linux System Operations Specialist (Infrastructure developer) performs Linux server 2nd and 3rd level support duties, including capacity planning, performance checking, advanced troubleshooting and resolution of issues escalated from other IT support teams, always following ITIL best practices and strict quality guidelines.
As a team member, you work within a group of other IT system administrators providing support to Roche Main Datacenters around the globe, performing activities which summarize as follows :
02nd and 03rd level support for the different Linux / UNIX technologies (RedHat, SAP-HANA, AIX, HP-UX) including failover cluster configurations.
Capacity and performance monitoring of the infrastructure
Continuous automation of tasks using traditional Linux ecosystem scripting technologies (SUMA, RH Satellite) as well as infrastructure development tools such as Ansible, Jenkins and Puppet.
Advanced troubleshooting of problems related to operating system & hardware with potential escalations to external vendors.
Participation in internal projects.
Coordination and execution of activities, sometimes required during weekends or out office hours.

In terms of qualification and experience, this is what we are looking for :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or recognition of prior working experience which is equivalent.
Demonstrable minimum of 5 years of experience in remote administration of Linux server infrastructure ecosystem. Required : RedHat Enterprise Linux
Desirable demonstrated experience with infrastructure development tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet)
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWare)
