The Senior Systems Engineer Network Deployment position is an individual contributor working in a team environment responsible for implementations and follow-
up of SS7 Network Services for TSI customers. Acts as the deployment point of contact for multiple customer implementations.
Performs as well as assists junior level personnel in performing all research associated with the deployment, creates and submits for review Methods of Procedure for all activities.
This position strives to improve customer satisfaction by following defined processes while providing excellent customer service during the deployment.
Implement, and support effective signaling networks to support TSI products and services
Provide support to SS7 network service implementation projects in areas of deployment (routing, screening, etc.), acceptance testing, and issue resolution.
Assist in the resolution of customer problems, issues, questions, and concerns during and after the implementation process, meeting and / or exceeding customer expectations.
Work with internal customers to resolve implementation issues prior to and during the installation phase. Work with customer utilizing best business practices to implement services.
Capture, review and analyze SS7 messaging (TCAP database services, ISUP, ANSI-41 and GSM MAP) to verify and identify any non-
conformance between signaling nodes.
Support departmental goals and objectives to ensure budgets and timelines are met or exceeded.
Assist in the development of technical expertise for junior engineers through on the job training.
Assist in the development and maintenance of ISO Procedures and adhere to all business processes.
Keep up to date on SS7 network requirements for TSI products and services.
Identify ways to improve the existing network architecture and recommend / implement changes.
Maintain detailed implementation documentation for each customer.
Support Sales / Implementation teams with technical solutions for customer proposals
Participate in meetings with Sales staff and Implementation Management to identify and meet their needs and goals.
Document all ideas from start to finish.
Keep up with latest industry advancements by continuous education and attending engineering forums.
Maintain documentation of all engineering designs and proposals
Document all designs, implementations and network solutions throughout the project or proposal and archive solutions for future use.
Maintain up to date files on each customer's topology and design.
Create engineering documents in a standard application (e.g., Visio2000, Microsoft Office).
Provide third level escalation support for network problems and outages
Work with TSI network vendors to assist in problem resolution.
Provide as needed network expertise and support to Network Operations, second level support, and application development personnel.
Support the 24 X 7 on-call support personnel on a rotational basis.

Data and voice network knowledge (WAN, T1, DS3, DS0, OC12, etc.)
Knowledge of SS7 Networking Protocols (MTP, SCCP, ISUP, TUP, TCAP)
Knowledge of signaling applications (ANSI 41, GSM, CNAM, LIDB, Toll Free, SMS, LNP)
Knowledge of ANSI and ITU signaling protocols
Proficiency in several of the following is preferred :

INET test gear
Tellabs and / or Eastern Research DACS
