Your Responsibilities :

The Hub Senior Controller manages and is responsible for the performance of the finance team supporting the Regional Business Unit (US, Other NA or LATAM) by delivering right first-time reporting and analysis which is insightful, fast and supports the business to develop accurate plans in a strong controls and assurance environment.

The Senior Controller helps to deliver the Finance vision of a world class finance function recognised by industry, the profession and our people which underpins the GSK vision.

  • This is a unique opportunity to be part of the future of finance as GSK develops our Americas Finance Hub in Costa Rica.

    • Working within our technology enabled finance hub, the Senior Controller will play a key role in creating a high performing team responsible for delivering Close and Control activities for Americas (North America and LATAM) markets as well as delivering more complex accounting activities.

  • Accountable for the reporting of financial results for the entities they are responsible for, with commentary including income, balance sheet and cash flow which is accurate and complete.
  • Manage all aspects of the financial month end review process, including Operational Excellence and Headcount reporting requirements, facilitating month end meetings, maintaining risk register & co-ordinating with all external partners.
  • Ensure all aspects of the Inventory & Profit transfer release are well managed and Profit & Lost reporting is accurate
  • Perform variance analysis for Balance Sheet, Operating expenses, Margins and Profitability, review financial information against historical run rates and future growth plans.
  • Participate & contribute into business reviews meetings as appropriate
  • Owns the Market balance sheet including write off / back decisions
  • Ensure entities results are fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practice and any other regulations
  • Ensure business complies with all aspects of the internal / external financial control environment, including published accounting papers and policies
  • Sign-off of statutory results with in-market Finance Directors
  • Supports and is responsible for the inputs to the external and internal financial audits
  • Additional activities as required by the Finance Directors

    • Why You?

    Basic qualifications :

  • Qualified accountant-Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive post qualification experience, preferably within a similar operating model and the same sector
  • Finance Controller experience
  • Expertise in creating or extracting information from / to excel and use of advanced formulas
  • Strong expertise in local and regional accounting principles and ensure that are applied to the financial statements.
  • Proficient level of problem solving & innovation.
  • English Level : C1

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Portuguese and / or French will be considered a plus.
