    Industrial Process Control Specialist I : $66,456 - $80,870.40

    Industrial Process Control Specialist II : $80,840.40 - $98,280

    Industrial Process Control Specialist III : $89,253.20 - $108,867.20

    The Energy and Automation Division isresponsible for energy production and distribution and process automation andcontrol.

    Staff located at the plant provide preventive and correctivemaintenance, emergency repair to support 24 / 7 operation of the plant, andparticipate in the design and implementation of capital improvement projects.

    The division is organized in five sections : power & air, electrical, HVAC,instrument & control and plant process control.

    The IPCS I / II / III classifications performprogramming and related work in the design, installation, configuration,operation, and maintenance of the San José-Santa Clara Regional WastewaterFacility distributed control, network and data historian systems used forcontrol and / or study of municipal wastewater processes.

    Performs related workas required.

    An incumbent in this position must operate andfollow directions in all phases. This position involves communication with awide range of staff at the plant as well as contractors and help other teammembers with network troubleshooting and installing equipment.

    Industrial Process Control Specialists mustmaintain system documentation and backups, as well as continue to acquireskills and knowledge of process control applications through on-the-job andtraining classes.

    This is essential tohave the ability to identify system problems by employing hardware and softwarediagnostics programs, verify nature of system malfunctions and rectify orprovide information required to effect repairs.

    All DCS related cabinets and other equipment must be properly organized,tagged, labeled, and orderly.

    Qualifications

    IndustrialProcess Control Specialist I

    Education : Associates degree from an accreditedcollege or university in instrumentation, electronics, information technology,or closely related field.

    Experience : One (1) year experience in thefield of networking, computer programming or control systems, instrumentation,electrical, VFD, or plant operations.

    Required Licensing : Possession of a validdriver’s license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in California.

    IndustrialProcess Control Specialist II

    Education : Associates degree from an accreditedcollege or university in instrumentation, electronics, information technology,or closely related field.

    Experience : Two (2) years of increasinglyresponsible computer programming, networking, and software / hardware technicalsupport, design and implementation of instrument panels, control logicdevelopment and documentation experience in process control at an industrialfacility similar to the Regional Wastewater Facility.

    Required Licensing : Possession of a validdriver’s license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in California.

    IndustrialProcess Control Specialist III

    Education : Associates degree from an accreditedcollege or university in instrumentation, electronics, information technology,or closely related field.

    Experience : One (1) year industrial processcontrol experience at the Regional Wastewater Facility.

    Required Licensing :

  • Possession of a validdriver’s license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in California.
  • Possession ofInternational Society for Automation (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician(CCST) or ISA Certified Automation Profession (CAP) certification.
  • A bachelor'sdegree in instrumentation, electronics, information technology or closelyrelated field may be substituted for the certification.

    DesirableQualifications :

    Possessionof or completion of any certification from International Society of Automation(ISA) or other Control Systems training certification equivalent to systemsused at the Regional Wastewater Facility.

    Knowledge of :

  • Process Control concepts such as PID loops andP&ID diagrams
  • Computer programming languages like C, C# orFunction Blocks
  • Fundamentals of process engineering and control
  • Basic Structured Query Language (SQL)
