The Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing and executing activities related to end-to end project management, including project plans and estimates, scoping and requirements through implementation and deployment.

The Senior Project Manager proactively manage work across different capabilities, monitor and report on execution of deliverables through all project phases.
When needed, a person in this position can take direct responsibility for the relationship with a specific agency team (at agency, client or brand level) to understand portfolio needs, provide technical and project advice and align projects and resources to ensure success.
They also can define processes, as well as establish metrics to measure their success and evaluate their impact to suggest improvement actions.
In addition, a Senior Project Manager can serve as mentor to other Project Managers in their career path, inspiring them with their performance standards, attention to detail, quality, delivery and customer satisfaction, experience and values, as well as sharing knowledge through conducting formal training or day-to-day work.
Lead discovery process on large engagements and accurately scope projects, defining project requirements and success metrics.
Define project scope, project / phase plans and estimates through negotiations with the project sponsor and key stakeholders.
Determine needed deliverables, high-level approach, project profile, responsible teams, overall project schedule / timeline, critical path, productivity improvements, overall risks and planning assumptions.
Broadly understand the solution being developed / deployed.
quality project deliverables through effective team communications and focus on quality.Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status in an effective manner.
Validate that proper deliverable and phase stage containment is occurring where required, e.g., signoffs are scheduled and completed, dependent deliverables are completed, phase plans are completed and agreed to by project leads before the phase starts.
Participate in and bring experience and insight to quality management and performance reviews.Ensure all deliverables are made with the highest quality.
Lead meetings with clients, ensure that they meet the stated objectives and stay on agenda.Report and manage overall program / project / release status back to sponsors and stakeholders.
Ensure that all requirements, project plans and changes are communicated to all affected team members.Ensure stakeholders clearly understand what risks will or will not be mitigated.
Accountable for managing project resources and even resources between multiple projects in order to deliver on-time, quality work.
Ensure that internal and external project resources with appropriate skill sets are provided.
Proactively eliminate critical path roadblocks to help ensure successful delivery of the solution.Take steps to proactively mitigate project risk as defined / required in a program / project.
When needed, conduct process reviews or audits to identify process improvement opportunities.Prepare, present and justify solid proposals of process improvement plans, as well as lead their implementation when requested.
Ensure project members effectively manage dependencies, budgets, and schedule.When leading a program, ensuring a complete understanding of other Project Managers about the strategic goals, constraints, risks and any other key elements of the program.
Identify training needs in the team members and when needed, research for or prepare material for training.Conduct training to teach many of the skills (both hard and soft) that are required for the successful planning, execution, delivery and support of projects.
Mentor other Project Managers in aspects of the profession such as leadership, methodology, tools, people skills and navigating politics.
Identify opportunities for new services or needs for consolidating new programs in an agency.
