The Product and Cloud Services (PCS) Finance FP&A team’s overall mission is to provide trusted and insightful financial information to enable the executive leadership teams to make effective decisions in maximizing VMware’s performance.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

This role will focus on managing all the finance team of Cloud Infrastructure Business Group related on cost of goods and services and operational spending.

The objective is to provide financial advice, negotiate tradeoffs across the business group, do the spending planning consolidation, support the Finance Vice President and General Operations manager for this group with spending strategies and modeling to meet goals.

The manager will need to liaise with multiple stakeholders to drive the short- and long-term spending management working with their direct analysts for each business unit.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Define scalable financial processes around month-end and quarter-end close reporting.
  • Drive CIBG Costa Rica Finance team to next generation of financial reporting and analysis, starting from the basic financial aspects to the deep analysis, modeling, and business influence.
  • Manager of the spending finance group, provide guidance and keep the group aligned with the business strategy.
  • Report out the spending results to business partners, general manager, and finance leader of CIBG organization.
  • Set up a process to maintain the business on track and develop various metrics to monitor health of the business on a regular basis.
  • Build resource / investment allocation analysis to drive better R&D investment decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Short & long-range spending planning processes.
  • Drive process improvements for VMware's CIBG portfolio for spend optimization, investment tracking.
  • Build strong business partnerships with CIBG Leadership team.
  • Support ad-hoc management reporting and analysis, as needed.
  • Keep the direct reports connected, aligned with the strategies, and working as a team for better practices, always aligned with our EPIC2 values.
  • Collaborate with the Products FP&A team and other VMware Finance teams to enhance the function’s contribution to the company.
  • Share best practices, identify gaps, lead change, and help determine priorities.

    Where is this role located?

    Flexible : The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
