About the role :

Working closely with the Global Process Steward, this role is responsible for reducing risk related to the Global Business Services (GBS) organization by facilitating the internal control program and partnering between auditors (internal / external), service delivery, and other business stakeholders to help execute the internal controls program.

The Candidate

The preferred candidate is an individual who is detail oriented, logical, organized, with analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a strong desire to learn.

Business partnership and strong communication skills are paramount while also being a self-starter, capable of handling multiple projects, and is committed to improving the GBS internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Service Delivery and IT teams and develop plans to mitigate risk and improve the program year over year
  • Quickly learn GBS business process areas including order to cash, payroll, source to pay, robotic process automation, account to report, fixed assets and related IT Systems supporting these functions including SAP, Concur, Cadency, SuccessFactors and others
  • Publish communication across GBS on control-related topics including adherence to deadlines, scorecards, policy updates, process changes, audit status, and other SOX-related activities
  • Develop and execute appropriate corrective and improvement strategies where necessary
  • Partner with BSC resources around the globe as a liaison to the GBS Control Environment
  • Prepare and deliver training materials with controls steward as needed
  • Help to assess adequacy of internal control environment, financial statement impact, efficiency / effectiveness of business processes and IT controls, Compliance with company policies and procedures, and external rules and regulations, and other areas on an as needed basis
  • Assess adequacy of controls within various technology enablers including new platforms as needed
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, accounting information system, information technology or related field
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Practical experience of Microsoft suites (O365, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and ability to learn other systems as needed
  • Creative, innovative and great business partnering skills
  • Works with integrity, accuracy, and is able to establish credibility
  • Exceptional research, planning, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent presentation, collaboration,
