ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Senior Brand Manager to join the Marketing Team in Costa Mesa, CA! Individual reports to the Sr. Director of Brand .

This role is a remote opportunity that requires to be local commutable distance to the HQ Costa Mesa, CA office as needed.


Your usual day of awesomeness includes :

Brand Management & Leadership

Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together. Works cross-functionally to grow share, build the brand, and achieve financial objectives :

  • Leads day to day management of brand activities including marketing plan development, marketing calendar development, execution and program tracking, budget tracking, unearthing new opportunities for growth, performance tracking, and retention / lifecycle efforts.
  • Manages the business against operating plans and budgets.

  • Partners with Sales & other cross-functional organizations to deliver strategic recommendations, suggest new product launches, and develop marketing tactics and sales enablement support to ensure successful implementation of local and / or national programs.
  • Builds strong relationships within a matrix structure to ensure achievement of business objectives as well as marketing message consistency and adherence to brand guardrails.
  • Promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. May serve as proxy for Senior Director or VP of Brand in key meetings.
  • Planning And Execution

    Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results :

  • Recommends strategic direction of brand and or / programs and develops short and long-term marketing plans based on consumer trends, insights, and data.
  • Collaborates with internal and external strategic business partners to develop joint short- and long-term marketing strategies and plans;
  • oversees implementation and monitors results.

  • Coordinates and executes advertising and promotions that support and are consistent with company-wide marketing and brand goals and objectives.
  • Partners with SVP of Sales, VP of Brand and Senior Director of Brand to align programs to subscriber forecasts.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and communicates brand, product, and program performance. Recommends action plans to address variances in performance against annual plans.
  • Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
  • Prepares, communicates, and educates client groups and teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
  • Product Innovation

    Leading the development of new products and product-related opportunities, from concept to commercialization, with the partnership of the Product Team :

  • Collaborates across cross-functional stakeholders (Sales / Product / company leadership) to gain deep understanding of their markets from a consumer and business standpoint.
  • Leads the consumer insights, branding, communications and marketing efforts for new product development and launch.
  • Drives the channel, category, and / or platform strategy reflecting competitive and consumer trends, market needs, and the brand’s positioning.
  • Manages project teams and timelines to deliver products and programs.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; MBA strongly preferred.
  • At least 7-10 years progressive experience in product or brand management / marketing.
  • At least 5-10 years project leadership in a cross-functional environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Telecom experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing vehicles and fundamentals.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in complex cross-functional projects and activities.
  • Understanding of the customer lifecycle and effective acquisition & retention strategies.
  • Is results-oriented and eager to own and be accountable on projects.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills; comfortable making recommendations using syndicated data and / or internal insights.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities. Brings new perspectives and ideas to work through barriers.
  • Strong cross-functional & team leadership and ability to influence others. High emotional intelligence, the ability to anticipate needs and communicate clearly.
  • Strong organization and planning skills. Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Functions effectively with ambiguity. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
