Purpose of this position

The CI Analyst in the OpEx team supports, guides, coordinates and facilitates a structured process improvement program which drives results aligned to business goals and the SSC strategy.

This role reports to the Global Finance OpEx Manager in the team working closely with all levels of the organization in the Baxter Costa Rica & Dublin SSCs to develop continuous improvement projects using different methodologies to drive excellence in the processes.

This will involve Kaizen workshop creation and facilitation, YB training delivery, coaching on problem solving YB projects, the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools and statistical analysis wrapped in Continuous Improvement methodology (DMAIC) and project management framework.

The successful person in this role will be an independent thinker who is naturally curious about how things work. Being metrics / data-savvy with an analytical mindset and demonstrated ability to influence, inspire and lead people are critical in this role.

The CI Analyst should demonstrate strong skills both technical and in training, adaptability, communication, team work, emotional intelligence and ambiguity management.

Main Responsabilities

  • Be a leader and enabler of the continuous improvement culture at the site by adopting an agile mindset.
  • Facilitate the execution of continuous improvement projects in the Baxter Costa Rica and Dublin SSCs or in other Baxter facilities that may have a global impact, managing project teams with high level of complexity and ambiguity.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives for waste elimination and reducing process variations through Kaizens and problem solving workshops, assessments and trainings.
  • It is expected from the CI Analyst to use and be skilled in DMAIC and LSS and Project Management tools.

  • Coach and train Baxter employees in the Costa Rica and Dublin SSCs and other Baxter locations across all functions on Continuous Improvement and Project Management concepts / methodologies / tools.
  • Perform quantitative analysis of key process indicators to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Help Communicate across all levels on Project progress.
  • Scope

    This position is responsible for the execution of the Global Finance Operational Excellence strategy and ensuring an effective implementation and objectives accomplishment.

    This person needs to be a coach and enabler of the continuous improvement and Project Management culture. The position requires business acumen, initiative and engagement to execute its duties.

    The main scope for the position is the Baxter Costa Rica and Dublin SSCs; however, the specialist could also provide help to other sites in Costa Rica or other Baxter sites globally.


    Bachelor degree or at least 75% of the career in Industrial Engineering, Administration or related Fields

    At least 2 years of experience in Process Improvement tools, projects and methodologies

    LSS Green Belt

    Project management experience

    Spanish and English Proficiency (At least a B2 Level)

    Demonstrated ability to lead people / teams without formal authority and earn trust with people and teams at all levels

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Experience facilitating meetings, training and projects with large groups

    Demonstrated ability to make decisions and take action with minimal direction

    Strong continuous improvement, project management and analytical background


    Proven experience in Data Analytics using Excel, Pivot Tables, Dynamic Tables, Alteryx, Tableau, RPA, etc.
