You will work in ORE - Unix team based out in San Jose (Costa Rica) center. ORE Operational and reliability, is an entity within McKinsey's worldwide IT organization -manages IT support services to primarily McKinsey firm members.
The services are provided globally on a 24 / 7 basis out of several support centers in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and India.
One of the IT hubs is located in San Jose delivering services such as Global Infrastructure and Application Support and High Definition Video Conferencing (HDVC) and VoIP support, among several other services.
You will proactively maintain and develop all Linux and AIX infrastructure technology, engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
In this role you will maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments. You'll do fault finding, analysis and logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.
You will proactively monitor system performance and capacity planning as well as manage, coordinate and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers and SAN Infra.
You'll create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks, provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
Also, you'll provide 2nd level support for application development and support teams in resolving technical problems related to applications hosted on McKinsey's AIX / Linux servers and SAN systems.
This will include coordination of 3rd level escalation to technical vendor support teams.Typically, you'll encounter a variety of support requests in the defined area on regular basis in a fast-paced environment.
This will require you to be highly adaptable and open to working on new tasks. In addition, you'll share knowledge as well as best practices and shoulder additional responsibilities at times of high workload / demand.
