Summary of Role

  • This is an IT LAN Provisioning Manager position within the EmersonService Delivery and Operations organization (SD&O). The job holder willhave ownership for the coordination of Managed LAN Services provisioning asdefined by Emerson IT and other LAN related projects.
  • Area to be covered is Northand Latin America region but may expand to otherareas on assignment basis. She / he will be responsible to deliver agreed levelof services to internal customers and to use associated applications,technology and infrastructure supporting delivery of these services in an ITILinspired environment.

  • Emerson IT Services span a variety of businesses,sites and user base count, going from small sales offices to largemanufacturing and engineering facilities, serving 60,000+ users and 500+ sitesworldwide
  • Specific Responsibilities


  • Be responsible for the project management of LAN Servicerelated projects within North and Latin America region. Role mayexpand to other world areas on assignment basis.
  • Promote efficiency in all working practices
  • Collaborate with LAN Service Owner and any relevant ITorganizations to improve the global service
  • Follow and enforce Emerson policies and rulesregarding relevant IT management, security, standards and procedures, liaisewith other teams when required
  • Maintain the required level of skills to meet expectedlevel of service
  • Be prepared to take on other duties within own area ofexpertise, as assigned
  • Provisioning

  • Insure optimized provisioning timeline and taskcoordination for LAN Service provisioning, eliminating project managementcomplexity for local IT teams
  • Be responsible for resource capacity management withinproject and own project portfolio, closely work with the Global LANProvisioning Manager and with the LAN&Voice Operation Management, escalateany issue
  • Lead the regular project calls, animate the projectteam and manage any conflict that could impact the success of the project
  • Produce and communicate the associated minutes toright audience, highlighting clear actions, main decisions and potential riskfor the project
  • Manage the global communication during the projectlifecycle, be the bridge between the stakeholders and the Provisioningorganisation
  • Closely collaborate with the Onboarding organizationand escalate any deviation to the planning
  • Contribute to the specific LAN Provisioning processesdefinition and improvement plan
  • Make sure that the LAN Provisioning metrics reportsare accurate
  • Make sure that agreed levels for LAN ProvisioningKPI’s are reached
  • Participate to the necessary documentation andprocedures definition and maintenance
  • Be the actor of the CSI process to improve the currentLAN controlled adoption service, features and associated tools
  • Education / Qualification Requirements of the Role Education

  • Education to degree level or equivalent, but experience may beconsidered in lieu of formal education
  • Manager : Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing IT related projects ofmedium / high complexity, in an international, preferably large enterpriseenvironment.
  • Junior level may be considered (less than 3 years’ experience, lowcomplexity).

  • ITIL or equivalent awareness or certification
  • Language knowledge : fluent in business English (speaking / writing); anyother languages are considered an advantage
  • Qualifications

  • Specific skill areas should include :
  • Manager : Project and Program management
  • Process improvement
  • Basic understanding of a LAN infrastructure and itsterminology
  • An effective communicator
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Diplomacy and listening skills
  • Ability to manage challenge of remote communicationsthrough multiple tools (Instant Messaging, e-mail, phone, project managementinterface)
  • Ready to travel (10 % of the time)
  • Manager : Professional certifications as appropriate
  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field
  • Strong, demonstrable customer focus, diplomatic savvy
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours
  • Strong analytical capabilities and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Open mind and flexible attitude towards the ambiguity inherent to alarge-scale IT reorganization, including but not limiting to managing overlapsand possible conflicts.
