What Global Trade Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Trade is responsible to facilitate compliant and effective international shipments. The Global Trade Data team offers insightful analysis of data of the import-export business to better inform business decisions.

Cardinal Health’s Global Trade Data & Duty Minimization Team supports the compliant creation and maintenance of trade related data to ensure efficient, effective and compliant border crossings for our global organization.

Team members will partner closely with product experts to assign product classifications, determine country of origin from a customs and health agency perspective, as well as qualify products for free trade agreements.

In addition, the team will partner closely with our finance partners to ensure proper product valuation for Customs purposes.

In depth knowledge of these concepts will be required as team members will also be responsible for designing and implementing automated processes in these areas.

Finally, team will support our Global Supply Chain Security programs by collaborating with our Sourcing teams and our Suppliers to ensure we meet minimum security requirements.

In general, a strong aptitude towards data analytics is preferred as our teams increasingly rely on data analytics to drive our decision making.

Accountabilities :

  • Free Trade Agreements / Special Duty Programs / TAA / LTSDs : First point of contact in working with Cardinal Health external vendors to obtain country of origin supporting documentation.
  • Works to obtain BOM of Cardinal Health self-manufactured products. Scrutinizes and conducts a first-tier review of certificates for accuracy.

    Ensures supporting documentation is obtained timely, in the designated frequency depending on the program, to allow Cardinal Health to leverage preferential duty treatment and maintain established and new programs.

    Escalates issues to Supervisor as needed.

  • Global Supply Chain Security : Supports C-TPAT & PIP program by issuing surveys to international suppliers on the security of their supply chain.
  • Follows up with suppliers through completion to ensure compliance with minimum security criteria. Reviews results for expected responses and issues predefined corrective actions.

    Ensures timeliness of the assessment process. Escalates issues to Supervisor as needed.

  • Systems : Participates in testing and implementation of potential new software solutions that could enhance Cardinal Health trade programs.
  • Reporting : Provides support by running reports regularly that show list of actions to be taken in any of the assigned programs.
  • Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Advance proficiency in English and Spanish (read, write, speak)
  • Self-Motivated and Dependable
  • Strong ability to problem solve
  • Internal or External Customer Service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Attention to detail / accuracy
