Responsible for carrying out basic tasks at customer site or multiple customer sites in a region and at VWR site (depending on the time negotiated and the agreement with the Client).

All of which can include but not limited to : inventory management, receiving, chemical tracking, storeroom tracking and even product delivery within customer site.

The Coordinator Site Services position requires knowledge and application of VWR and routine customer systems. Reporting and customer interaction is typically of a routine nature.

Unloading trucks, receiving, stocking, picking, de-trashing. Second level responsibilities to include but not limited to the following : inventory control (FIFO rotation, stock counts, cycle counts and manual monitoring of stock levels and usage).

Other responsibilities could include the back up of site employees or drivers. The incumbent is also responsible for general or specific duties in the areas of housekeeping, safety, quality control, continuous improvement and other tasks assigned.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Performs inventory management related functions such as monitoring slow moving and dead stock, conduct cycle counting and yearly inventories and reporting, etc.
  • Increase VWR revenue by controlling customer spend, provides daily customer service functions and interfaces with the customer relative to inventory management.
  • Perform shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material (including hazardous materials), answering customer calls, handling routine issues, operating and hand-jack and forklift, enter relevant shipping information into the customer computer system, and maintaining inspections on safety stations and equipment.
  • Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
  • Responsible for managing consigned, non-consigned, customer owned and 3rd party inventory onsite and at the customer location.
  • Utilizes VWR and basic customer computer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, and customer specific ERP systems as well as customer specific shipping system) in fulfilment of job duties.
  • Meets goals and objectives : revenue, safety, performance and quality.
  • Contact VWR warehouse supervisor and sales representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Use lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Participate in physical inventories process. Participate in departmental or committee’s meetings.
  • Transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by dispatcher including hazardous material.
  • Unloads or assists in unloading freight as required. Properly secures loads and ensures loads are within weight limits.
  • Verifies count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded. Make reports of overages, shortages and breakage / damage as needed.
  • Operates the truck / van units in a safe manner.
  • Reports any vehicle problems and defects to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Complies with all transportation and other standards and regulations.
  • Maintains a good driving record.
  • Ensures good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS (Education / Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in material handling, distribution, inventory replenishment or customer service
  • Spill containment training, HAZWOPER and OSHA Right to Know a plus
  • Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory of purchasing
  • Valid Driver s License (B3) and transportation
  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Some knowledge in computers (Microsoft Office, lotus or similar)
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferable
  • Ability to read / write and do the basic math
  • Ability to sort and assemble materials
  • Basic safety knowledge
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can do attitude.
  • High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both the customer and internal contacts
  • May be required to travel
  • ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

    Typically, works in an office, warehouse, laboratories with adequate lighting and ventilation and normal range of temperature and noise level.

    Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

    A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

    Driving and travel is required

    Physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects.

    It is required that the person loads weights from 25 to 200 pounds to transport it.
