The challenge

The Corporate Platform Partnerships team works closely with Adobe’s strategic partners (Apple, Google and Microsoft), internal / external executives, and stakeholders across the respective companies.

The leader for this team not only ensures compatibility dependencies for core Creative Cloud, Document Cloud software and hardware , but also analyzes partner opportunities to advance Adobe’s mobile and desktop growth strategy through partner engagement.

As the Director of Corporate Platform Partnerships, you will be responsible for managing the business and technical partner manager team : identifying and driving overarching strategic partner marketing and / or platform optimization efforts, managing risks and surfacing escalations.

This role requires the ability to see the bigger picture across our partner ecosystem and to work cross-functionally with legal, product management, product marketing and business strategy teams with a focus on scaling operationally, minimizing risks and driving impactful results for both Adobe and our partners.

What you’ll do

  • Identify and develop partnership opportunities that deliver customer value and accelerate Digital Media’s market leadership and brand presence with existing and new audiences
  • Leverage senior relationships inside and outside of Adobe at many levels to initiate to develop initiatives to ensure global product readiness and drive improved experiences / outcomes with partners
  • Extend the reach of Digital Media’s products by embracing new and compelling app store, editorial and software launch marketing opportunities
  • Proactively coach and manage the business and technical team members to embrace operational excellence and drive execution of multiple projects across functional teams and ensure adherence to joint timelines and priorities
  • Assist the team in communicating with external partners to align on technical roadmaps to ensure operating system / hardware platform compatibility, validate technical issues, escalate priority fixes / bugs and manage policy issues related to Adobe desktop and mobile products
  • Effectively manage change and risk, create mitigation plans and keep internal stakeholders and execs informed about escalations
  • Negotiate legal agreements on behalf of product / engineering teams to ensure Adobe’s IP is protected while creating a mutually beneficial outcome for both Adobe and the partner
  • Monitor Adobe’s health as a consumer and enterprise ISV across multiple app stores and validate business, technical and design factors that could impact app submission / reviews
  • Stay up to date on latest partner updates / releases and inform internal teams on relevant changes and potential impact
  • Identify opportunities to create broad partner operational efficiencies for scalability
  • What you need to succeed

  • Minimum of 15+ years’ experience in business development, developer relations or partner management in software, SaaS and / or related industry with an MBA ( 20+ years of experience without an MBA)

  • Leadership competences to run strategic projects and represent yourself and the Digital Media business to Adobe leadership and external constituencies
  • People skills to work collaboratively across an organization with world class designers, marketers, developers, and product teams
  • Conviction to hold one’s own and think in fast-paced and opinionated meeting environments, gains consensus and respect of key stakeholders
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication capabilities to convey analytical results to synthesize and determine value in new business opportunities and present solutions to complex problems while making thoughtful persuasive recommendations
  • Be a trusted advisor who effectively interfaces and builds relationships by successfully working with and at senior levels of partner companies, while effectively representing bilateral corporate agendas resulting in influencing executive leaders
  • Experience in deal structuring and negotiation, including partnerships and licensing agreements
  • Embody growth leader principles to be seen as a role model for leadership
  • Self-motivated and inquisitive. with strong desire to have a deep understanding of partner company technologies and their applicable technical and / or business impact to Adobe
  • Proven experience managing complex projects with internal and external stakeholders to successful completion with the ability to bring clarity and organization to ambiguous situations
