About the role

The SOX Senior is tasked with Bacardi s global compliance per the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) and to provide certification that our internal control environment is operating effectively.

In this role, the SOX Senior will participate and support our SOX efforts, including scoping, planning, execution, reviews and assessments to comply with SOX regulations.

This position reports to our SOX Senior Manager, and the team up to the VP-Internal Audit. The SOX Compliance Team works closely with key stakeholders across business units and corporate functions globally, as well as our technology organizations.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Assist the SOX Compliance Manager in leading a comprehensive Global SOX Program
  • Propose / maintain SOX Framework control changes (i.e. additions / deletions / modifications) and participate in the change management process
  • Prepare / amend detailed test plans for financial controls in compliance with testing SOX requirements
  • Inform management and key process owners of relevant SOX requirements
  • Support for external auditor reliance on internal audit work for SOX compliance
  • Assist with detailed scoping / planning for testing of internal controls
  • Perform walkthroughs of key controls over financial reporting, as needed
  • Perform testing of key controls over financial reporting as needed
  • Review documentation updates of business processes and related controls to support process owners with their responsibility for adequate / optimal control design
  • Support the preparation of SOX compliance and status reporting, including write-up of deficiencies as needed
  • Support SOX / ICFR requirements are comprehended in policies & procedures impacting financial reporting / assisting in the design of appropriate internal controls around new business processes.
  • Assist in the review of responses to control deficiencies to validate proper classification for evaluation

  • Critical experiences for success

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance / Business Administration, Accounting, or other relevant field;
  • 3-5 years of previous audit experience (internal / external),
  • A professional accounting / audit certification (CPA, CIA, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong financial and accounting required; IT exposure a plus
  • Sarbanes-Oxley experience required;
  • Goal-oriented and outgoing with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to think and work analytically;
  • Ability to identify and assess risk
  • Ability to develop strong and lasting relationships with all levels of management;
  • High energy with a superb attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-starter; ability to work on unstructured assignments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluent command of English (90% or C1 level or over)
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Preferred :

  • US GAAP / IFRS experience preferred
  • SAP knowledge preferred
