NBC Bay Area is looking for an aggressive, organized and innovative investigative producer to join our nationally recognized and awarded team.
The successful candidate will enterprise and produce ground-breaking investigative news stories and contribute to major breaking news events.
Our journalists are dedicated to holding the powerful accountable and uncovering truth. The applicant should have a good understanding of how to deliver meaningful and impactful stories for our broadcast and digital platforms.
Experience doing computer-assisted reporting research and database analysis is a plus. This is not an entry level position.
Responsibilities
Research, develop, write and produce ground-breaking investigative news stories
Generate long and short-term investigative news projects
Enterprise investigative content across all of NBC Bay Area’s on-air and digital platforms
Develop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive reports
Contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events
Conduct hidden-camera and surveillance operations
Willingness to perform basic video shooting and editing as needed
Responsible for production and distribution of all elements of a story across all devices
Qualifications / Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an investigative journalist
Understanding of computer-assisted reporting and working with database and spreadsheet programs
Ability to shoot and edit video for broadcast

Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid Driver’s License
