This Business Analyst II (BA) position is a part of the IT Business Services, Integrations, and Corporate Finance (SIF) team that supports Global Business Services (GBS) initiatives.
Global Business Services is a large part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific organization to enable consistency and scale in shared services functions globally.
Some of the areas in GBS are global sourcing, supply chain, pricing, process improvement, operations, risk management, real estate and security.
Technology and digital are key enablers for this group. The BA acts as a partner to our business stakeholders who are solving internal shared service needs and problems.
BA’s have a passion for making sure that software, applications, and processes are effectively integrated / adopted within the functions to achieve maximum productivity gains, while meeting the needs of the business and maintaining proper data integrity.
This position will be located in our shared service center in Lagunilla, Costa Rica.
The BA role supports our global business stakeholders and wider IT teams who are involved in working with our Coupa application.
A key part of the BA’s job will be to manage the support and business processes within the Coupa application, including answer end user support and feature requests, whilst providing input into strategic projects and programs, and acting as a partner to our business user groups.
This role requires and individual who can quickly grasp concepts and system capabilities and turn them into results for our business users.
Whether this be through resolving a system issue, working to recommend a path forward or analyzing business requirements and turning them into solutions, this role requires a person who is a self-starter and has good customer engagement qualities.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :
Develop comprehensive understanding of the business processes supported by the Coupa application, as well as a strong working rapport with business users
Serve as the main liaison between the business users and technical teams for additional implementations of Coupa
Work with internal and external IT partners to translate requirements into technical specifications
Triage issues, ensure issue resolution and escalate issues as needed.
Create and facilitate the capturing of functional business requirements by gathering, analyzing and documenting the requirements in a way that can be understood by a diverse audience (technical and non-technical alike).
Assist in user workshops to define requirements, write use and business cases, and design workflow processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field with 6-8 years of related experience
Must be able to work with and effectively communicate to all levels of management and build working relationship with others outside of the Team.
Proven problem-solving skills and strong analytical skills
Ability to organize, disseminate information efficiently and set expectations.
OTHER SKILLS :
Proficient in Microsoft Office products specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Coupa experience preferred
Process improvement training and / or experience
Knowledge in any of the following technologies is a plus : ERP’s (E1, SAP, etc)Business Spend Management systems (Coupa, etc)PowerBI
Must be able to work effectively as a member of a Team and in a matrix reporting environment.
Ability to multi-task and work with cross-functional teams in a very fast- paced environment.
Strong time management skills, prioritization abilities and take ownership of issues and task .
