The Intelligent Automations Developer is responsible for developing and implementing business process automations against existing Emerson business systems.

This role will also support the decision-making process that defines which automation tool is most cost-effective and efficient for the needed business solution.

The Developer will work together with the Subject Matter Experts and then use Blue Prism and other automation tools to create the automation sequence (code creation) that will support a specific task or process, including (but not limited to) Office 365 tools, Power BI, Excel macros, Blue Prism and other Emerson IT-approved automation tool standards, with a heavy emphasis of their time invested in Blue Prism development.

Will also interact with a community of other automation developers and Technical Leads at the Automation Solutions and Emerson Corporate levels to ensure this role is aligned to our single global standards of tool selection, design, development, implementation and support.

Along with the Subject Matter Expert, will generate the related documentation required to record the process in conjunction with the business champions and Technical Leads and will collaborate to collect and document lessons learned for the execution of knowledge transfer as well.

Will train the Subject Matter Expert in Automation tools if needed. Will support and generate documentation of the Automation routines performed according to the Intelligent Automations Team guidelines.

Will test the Business Continuity Plan generated by the Subject Matter Expert to validate Continuity of the actions to be taken.

Will support and give opinion on the Maintenance and Cost model defined for the automation.

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that we work issues with pride, integrity, and a sense of urgency. Ensure accurate and consistent metrics are reported and reviewed for accuracy.

    Utilize our metrics to drive positive behavior. Instill accountability in our teams and demonstrate willingness and ability to learn from our mistakes.

    Promote cross team collaboration on issues.

  • Efficient Operating Processes work cross functionally to ensure that the processes we utilize are efficient and effective.
  • Work to support the process improvement activities championed and prioritized by the remote functional leaders inspired by the Operational Excellence principles.

    Ability to implement the full life cycle of an automation solution : identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and, develop, test and deploy automation solutions using Blue Prism, Office 365 or other accepted Emerson IT standards for automation applications.

  • Safety and Quality support and enforce strict change control processes. Help define and refine the way we manage problems in the site in coordination with the local HR leader.
  • Customer Focus instill a customer service mentality into the teams. Promote a collaborative transparent working environment.
  • Set clear expectations with customers, employees and sister organizations and then meet those expectations. Validates with process owners, other Center of Excellence teams and an end to end business validation upon completion of development effort.

    EDUCATION

  • REQUIRED : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field Strong verbal, written and presentation communications abilities in English
  • EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • REQUIRED : At least 1 year of experience in Blue Prism version 6.0 or greater At least 2 years of experience in C# Proficient at dealing with all levels of the organization in a constructive, productive fashion Strong analytical, problem-solving, project tracking and conceptual skills Attention to detail and able to manage data accurately Exceptional customer service orientation
  • PREFERRED : At least 2 years of related experience in IT or related areas preferred, which may include : Expertise in Visual Basic, SQL, MS Flow, Power Query Experience in Visual Studio.
  • NET technologies like C#.Net 4.5, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML, Web Services, WCF, WPF, MVC. SQL Server a plus. Proficient in developing applications using Java, JavaScript, J-Query, JSON
