Research and resolve discrepancies and complex technical accounting issues as necessary acting as SME.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management.
Facilitate and coordinate quarterly Balance Sheet review meetings with markets.
Handle accounting policy and procedure inquiries, ad hoc reporting and analysis requests.
Serve in a liaison role with other GFS’ departments, Market contacts and BPO team (Genpact).
Support team lead in preparation of internal and external audit requests.
Prepare and assist staff accountants in monthly journal entries and quarterly adjustments as needed.
Engage directly with customers and business partners on complex activities and deliverables; maintain effective relationships with business partners;
own all required support including the resolution and remediation of open questions and concerns
Prepare complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation involving new activities and / or updating for process changes as required.
Identify issues and continuous improvement opportunities and communicate to management along with potential range of solutions.
Participate in special projects and other initiatives that are in addition to existing role and responsibility

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting / Business Administration is required.
Must possess sufficient understanding of reconciliations to review and assist Cash Management staff and BPO team with preparation of monthly recons for assigned bank accounts.
4 years of experience in a Corporate Finance environment required (shared service environment preferred).
Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment with people from different backgrounds.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required.
Demonstrated advanced technical US GAAP and financial reporting knowledge and experience.
Advanced SAP and HFM skills preferred.
Proficient written and verbal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of management.
Fluency in English and Portuguese required.
