Position Summary :

Performs a variety of duties related to all aspects of the export order process, from receipt and processing of order through shipment of orders.

Responsibility to be primary source of training in Export Specialist responsibilities, as well as to help in identifying system limitations or inefficiencies.

Serve as knowledge resource for the department with relation to uncommon shipping and payment arrangements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Match, review for completeness, export compliance and company policies export orders received from customer to any existing quotation or pricing agreement that is applicable to that order.
  • Monitors orders for timely delivery and works with Purchasing to expedite. Keeps customers advised of delivery updates.
  • Maintains knowledge of documentation requirements, acceptable payment terms and mode of shipment for assigned countries.
  • Country assignments are focused on higher level of complexity of payment terms, shipping methods, customer expectations, etc.

  • Document order instructions to ensure proper preparation of export documentation and routing.
  • Researches and responds to inquiries regarding orders and shipments within defined time limits.
  • Awareness of procedure to ship hazardous materials.
  • Conduct training on the Export Specialist functions, including order entry, shipping, export compliance and preparation of export documentation.
  • Contributes to improvements and efficiencies of the department and the Company.
  • Attending Seminars on all Export functions, including preparation of Export Compliance and Licensing Determination.
  • Able to serve as back up to other associates in their absence.
  • Maybe called upon to assist the Quotes Specialist relative to work overload
  • Must attend internal / external training, which will include products, export compliance and any other functions that relate to work duties.
  • Participates in Practical Process Improvement (PPI).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :

  • Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s preferred
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills (90 % English Skills)
  • Solid understanding of computer basics (Windows, Excel, Word, Email, and Internet)
  • Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria :

  • Must possess a high level of verbal communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions or customer service requests, and strong written calls to prepare customer documents and enter customer information into the system.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be customer service focused, to develop and maintain constructive working relationship within and outside the company.
  • Must be able to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine and non-routine issues.
  • Must possess analytical skills to interpret customer request, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, be able to provide suggestions for corrective action, preventive customer service and to assist with quotes.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, to be able to prioritize work, and meet departmental productivity metrics.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently as well as a quick learner.
