Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop curriculums and learning plans, and content such as tutorials and job aids
  • Interface with department subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist with course updates
  • Film and complete basic video editing for training videos as needed
  • Maintain, categorize and update training content and resources
  • Make recommendations for improvements to courses and the LMS user experience
  • Job Requirements :

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
  • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material / media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop
  • Experience :

  • 2+ years’ experience creating content using an authoring tool such as Articulate Storyline and Rise and creating multimedia assets such as videos
  • 1+ year experience managing content on an LMS such as WorkDay
  • Education :

  • BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar. A Masters’ degree can be substituted in lieu of the work experience requirement.
  • Experience with learning facilitation experience
  • Specific Skills & Knowledge Required :

  • Familiarity with adult learning theory
  • A keen attention to detail, with an eye for grammar and design
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and assignments
  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn new programs quickly
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts / video scripts
  • Excellent communication skills, including written & verbal English
  • Comfortable working effectively with people at all levels in the organization
  • Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements :

  • Position to be based in Costa Rica
  • Key Performance Measures :

  • Collaboration with SMEs / content experts / stakeholders
  • Course design / development / design judgements; Write learning objectives
  • Management / Project management
  • Problem-solving / solving ill- structured problems
  • Knowledge of theoretical foundations and instructional design models
  • Education :

  • BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar. A Masters’ degree can be substituted in lieu of the work experience requirement.
