    The Wireless System team is a highly visible team in Wireless Connectivity engineering group, responsible for the PHY layer and system level algorithm design, digital verification, and silicon bring-up for next-gen WLAN and narrowband transceivers, as well as exploration of next generation wireless technologies.

    As part of this core team, the candidate would :

  • Deploy concepts from wireless communications theory to design cutting-edge algorithms for Wi-Fi or narrowband transceivers
  • Build detailed system models and perform complex system simulations / analysis to characterize PHY performance
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop area / power efficient hardware implementations and assist in verification efforts
  • Evaluate results from silicon bring-up, root-cause deficiencies, and develop improvements to design wherever applicable
  • Cross-layer system performance optimization on wireless chipsets
  • Exploring forward-looking wireless technologies and participate in wireless standard developments such as IEEE 802.11 / 15, WiFi Alliance, and Bluetooth SIG.
  • Qualifications :

  • M.S / Ph.D in EE / ECE specialization in fields related to wireless / signal processing.
  • Solid understanding of wireless communication theory (MIMO / OFDM, Beamforming, Timing / Freq acquisition, AGC, Channel Estimation, multiuser, indoor locationing, wireless sensing, )
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience in using C / C++ / Python / MATLAB for modeling / simulations of wireless links
  • Industry experience would be a plus
  • Knowledge of modern communication standards (IEEE 802.11, LTE, mmWave, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15.4) standards would be a plus
