The Sales Coordinator / Proposal Specialist plays a critical role in the development of fully compliant and winning proposals.
This role consists of leveraging comprehensive understanding of the customer requirements to lead the bid process and manage efforts in development and coordination of responses to solicitations.
Proposal Specialist will be tasked with developing, managing and overseeing responsibility matrices, compliance matrices, kick-off meetings, status calls, proposal development, proposal writing and production.
The successful candidate will work across many different vertical markets and engage with various subject matter experts. How you will do it :
Manage, facilitate and coordinate proposal team activities in preparation of responses to Johnson Controls national and global commercial solicitations
Act as central point of contact for proposal development process including evaluation of requirements, gathering data, and content to transform into clear and effective responses
Participate in team discussions where RFPs are analyzed by breaking down and interpreting the components in order to determine tactics and methodologies to meet customer’s requirements.
Interface with Johnson Control’s sales team and vendor technical resources to leverage available marketing tools including creative written and illustrative offerings in customer proposals.
Analyzes technical literature available, writes descriptive copy, and verifies documentation with related departments and as part of a collaborative capture team.
Engage with corporate legal department to ensure customer legal requirements are addressed.
Works individually or as part of a team to review RFPs and determine key customer requisites in relations to the proposed system.
Develop and maintain a technical repository of documents and proposals for future use.
Determine the use of graphics, visual aids, tables, and photographs to support written text.
Ensure order, clarity, consistency, style, and terminology are in accordance with set standards.
Ability to multi-task, as in, experience managing multiple projects, establishment and utilization of project timelines, ability to create and meet established deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain logical documented process flows. Propose methods to establish and improve processes used to develop and distribute materials and responses to bids.
What we look for :
Minimum 2 years of prior related experience in proposal writing, capture management, design and layout demonstrated by documentation.
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Knows and uses the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the field of specialization.
Demonstrates the ability to work with others as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work independently and communicate with all levels of management
Working knowledge of word processing and other similar documentation and graphic arts tools such as Adobe Acrobat (InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and MS Power Point
Ability to transfer user requirements and technical detail to readable, usable documentation,
Strong training skills and flexibility to travel, as required.
