About the role

Bacardi Soluciones Corporativas, SA (Bacardi), Bacardi’s global shared services center based in San Jose, Costa Rica, is looking for high performing individuals who are success driven and interested in a leadership position within the organization.

The Tax Assistant position is an important role to ensure the tax compliance of the company and the role will be responsible to perform transactional level tasks, generating reports, performing month end close tax activities, preparation of tax returns and other tax compliance external and internal processes for the company globally.

The Tax Assistant should become knowledgeable in tax rules, local compliance and filing requirements, should prepare the paperwork for tax returns and any information required to prepare the returns as per local requirements and assist the tax analyst to make sure those returns and obligations are filed timely and accurately.



  • Extraction and review of data from SAP for the preparation of the local filings and tax requirements.
  • Responsible for the quality and timely submission of the data the supports the tax filings and requirements.
  • Assist on the timely submission and delivery of tax returns / reports and all supporting documentation before the Tax Authorities.
  • Control and monitor that the tax payments are done timely.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of the tax GL accounts versus the tax filings on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Keep updated the Desktop Manuals (DTM) with the tax processes and flows of information.
  • Keep control and upload in a single repository all the documentation that supports the tax filings-returns.
  • Coordination with GBS of any information required for the filings and ensuring that the information received from GBS is correct for the purpose of the filings and returns.
  • Assist with the internal tax controls to ensure tax filings quality and timely submission.
  • Skills and Experience

    To be successful in this role you will have / be :

  • Educational requirements : Accounting technician degree, bachelor s degree or degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Previous experience with SAP desired but not mandatory.
  • Advanced with the MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel) and MS SharePoint.
  • Previous experience in accounting : 1-3 years.
  • Previous experience in tax filings-reporting tax returns : 1 year at least. (preferred)
  • Analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work assigned.
  • Intermediate- Advance English skills.
