Experian Finance is currently going through an exciting time of transition, process improvement and automation to drive productivity and best practice finance.
With that in mind we are looking to develop and build our Revenue Accounting and capability in a global hub within our San Jose, Costa Rica Global Finance Service Centre.
Experian Global Finance Services is the fastest growing area of the Experian finance team with c 60% of the Experian Finance roles within this organisation.
Global Finance Services is based in 4 main locations : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Sofia, Bulgaria; San Jose, Costa Rica; Sao Carlos, Brazil with satellite offices UK and US.
With the implementation of IFRS15 and our Digital Finance projects driving improved revenue accounting and forecasting, this team will be driving activities that require specific and expert knowledge, not only to recognize revenue properly but also to collaborate with Sales and Operations teams effectively.
The role is an incredible opportunity to develop into a true business partner. It includes significant exposure with Senior Management, Group Finance, External Audit and the Business Units.
The role also includes the opportunity to be part of the forefront of process automation, release of new products and use, of leading edge new tools to manage Experian’s businesses.
The successful candidates will report to the VP Global Finance Services Costa Rica. Key responsibilities :
Primary responsibility is to create and build a high performing team
Leads the transition, centralization and standardization of revenue processes
Provides high quality Management Information on the team’s performance and outputs
Focus on technology and automation to drive continuous improvement
Manages senior stakeholders remotely
Ensures revenue recognition process in line with IFRS 15 requirements and recommendations
Ensures full compliance of Experian’s Revenue Recognition policy.
Applies IFRS 9 when necessary
Timely reports of Revenue Recognition reconciliations to all stakeholders
Advises the business when signing new contracts.
Documents in detail all processes.
Maintains an updated Business Continuity Plan
Constantly preaches best practices to all parties involved.
Maintains regular meetings with key stakeholders.
Maintains current process documentation
Avoids challenges by enforcing Revenue Recognition policy.
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills :
Exceptional stakeholder management skills
Experience of building high performing teams
Exceptional leadership skills and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in leadership roles
Strong finance experience with advanced knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15
Certified Public Accountant or equivalent
Previous experience in multinational / global organizations.
Ability to lead change across the organisation and within the GFS, both on systems and processes
Experience of working in fast paced, results driven role within complex organisation.
Ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands, demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills
Experienced in handling sensitive issues / situations and cultural differences
Strong controls and compliance background
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Six Sigma training preferable
Proven previous job stability, including maintaining long-term work relationships with former employers
Must be able to clear the company’s pre-employment screening Desirable Skills / Experience
Finance background or qualification
Exposure to Finance Shared Services, ideally internationally
Experience in managing transformation processes in a Finance shared service environment
