Trade Compliance Analyst I will work for Emerson Global International Trade Compliance Shared Services, providing support to the team on administrative tasks as well as completing daily requests on behalf of Emerson entities, sales offices and other locations globally.

Trade Compliance Analyst I, is considered an ITC User / Individual Contributor Any individual within the organization who interacts with ITC controls

Responsibilities

  • Completes required ITC training
  • Adheres to functional / department / site ITC requirements and / or procedures
  • Escalates ITC concerns to applicable Gatekeeper and / or ITC Manager / Leader
  • Conduct Restricted Party Screening and analyze potential matches.
  • Conduct end use, end user and anti-boycott screenings with Emerson authorized tools, and release orders and shipments export hold on their behalf if required.
  • Performing audits of import and export documentation on behalf of Emerson entities; complete the broker scorecard.
  • Create and maintain performance metrics.
  • Conduct basic analysis of transactions and reports based on U.S import and export programs.
  • Support the import HS classification process for entities in the U.S
  • Follow distributors to complete the Due Diligence Questionnaire into Oracle Checkpoint
  • Request of annual Certificates of Origin from suppliers, track of certificates received and accuracy review
  • Analysis of Country of Origin for the items contained in the bill of material to apply for Exim Bank benefit
  • Maintain the proper record keeping for activities mentioned.
  • Requirements

  • Technical High School Diploma in Customs Administration or Logistics; first year of Customs / Trade Administration-related college program
  • Basic Knowledge in Customs & Trade Terminology (valuation, country of origin, Incoterms, commercial invoice, and freight documentation)
  • Good communication both verbal and written in English (Minimum B1)
  • Additional foreign languages is a plus.
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • 6 months to 1 year in a work environment, working with internal or external customers.
