MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The position functions as a business partner to support ABBOTT in Costa Rica. The incumbent is responsible to support the accounting and internal control (including S-OX compliance) for Costa Rica general accounting on a timely and accurate manner assuring compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws & regulations.
The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of IFRS in Costa Rica and, in sustaining basis, to address balance sheet discrepancies with Accounting Manager, prepare balance sheet analysis, and maintain Costa Rica legal accounting books, prepare corresponding reports and monthly closing activities.
General Accounting Provide overall accounting and finance support to the facility by managing routing accounting and finance work including but not limited to general disbursements, closings, and general account analysis of all Costa Rica related expenses.
This includes but is not limited to financial support in the spending analysis and budget control; Prepare monthly spending analyses for the plant;
Preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end statutory financial reports in compliance with predetermined due dates.
Support to internal and external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Balance Sheet / income statement account analysis - Preparation of Balance sheet and income statement under IFRS and variance analysis, including, but not limited to bank and cash, Payroll Accruals, Fixed assets, Intercompany, and prepaid accounts
Closing - Preparing and input journal entries to general ledger such as accrued liabilities recording, cost center reclassification and other adjustments per monthly closing schedule;
prepare required management reports as requested by Supervisor.
Statutory reports for Costa Rica such as Procomer, Ministerio de Hacienda D104, D101, D150 and Audit support.
Retention - Maintain proper & organized Balance Sheet and P&L to comply with local statutory requirements and keep the legal books for accounting purpose.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with major in Accounting or Finance.
6+ years experience in accounting / audit roles preferably in manufacturing environment.
Required experience in Free Trade Zone companies.
At least two years working experience in General accounting under International Financial Standards.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
