The Cargill Business Services (CBS) San Jose center lead is a location-based role. This position is responsible for delivery and operational performance of the center in San Jose, Costa Rica, with an employee strength of over 1200 employees.
The role works in coordination with functional leaders and provides direction to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of end to end processes.
This position leads, advises, and makes decisions on center specific policies or initiatives. These include : continuous improvement, people and talent management (recruitment, engagement, career opportunities, and compensation in their market), facility management, risk and compliance, as well as local government issues or engagement.
The CBS center lead is a thought leader who acts as a conduit in a matrix organization, look at the end-to-end towards the future strategic direction, driving a high integrated culture of continuous improvement and agile mentality.
The role will report to the CBS global lead.
Principal Accountabilities :
40% Lead the building of world class GBS operations
Provide leadership and direction for the leadership team in the shared service location and develop a vision and strategy for the center
Work with the CBS center management team to lead a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, employee performance, people development, cost management, CBS center policies, reporting and resource planning
Ensure highest level of service delivery at competitive cost and consistent quality
25% Lead CBS strategy and create strategic partnership
Partner with the CBS global operations leads to establish framework and drive meaningful regular discussions with the functions and businesses (including balanced scorecards, performance dialogues, issue escalation, etc.)
Partner with functions to expand capabilities / services based on benchmark and best business practices in the market
25% People Management
Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning, coaching, and engagement of the team members in the CBS center
Hire staff and other employees, determine future resource needs in alignment with CBS growth projections and new capabilities, and independently make selection decisions within local CBS center
Responsible for aligning overall team resources to execute against short and medium-term plans. Assist with long-term resource planning
10% Internal Control & Compliance
Ensures an internal control environment within CBS, including risk mitigation, and the total compliance of all its operations and services with internal and external regulations
Build a Cargill environment of trust and empowerment, while establishing strong confidence in security
15+ years of professional work experience with at least 5 years leading in shared service environment
Demonstrated success leading a large, multi-discipline team in an environment requiring a high degree of collaboration
Proven ability to align the needs of customer and the business organization through leveraging the resources of diverse stakeholders
Managed stakeholders with extensive experience working in a diversified industry environment
Fluent in English and Spanish with ability to easily communicate with stakeholders
Ability to build collaboration and partnership across teams, avoiding silos
Comfortable working with considerable ambiguity
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to identify performance improvement opportunities and achieve them
Successful experience working with virtual colleagues

Masters in Business Administration
Experience in implementing business process improvement initiatives on a large scale
Shared service leadership experience in IT, Finance, HR, Procurement and / or logistics
Quality certification like Lean Six Sigma or CSM
Six Sigma or related certification
