Job Summary :

Volterra is seeking a Content Engineer with experience in developing user documentation for public / private cloud services and preferably telecom / networking products.

We are seeking highly competent technical writers who can work independently and produce documentation for the fast-paced product / feature development.

This is a full-time job reporting to the VP of Product & Solutions in Santa Clara, California.

Job Responsibility :

Write technical documentation for internal or external developer audiences, such as API reference docs, developer guides.

Support content development efforts for solutions & use-cases on Volterra’s SaaS platform.

Design and organize documentation sets for new APIs and developer products.

Edit, clarify and proofread documents written by others, and coach others on ways to improve their writing skills.

Ability to write documentation that can cater to different types of users.

Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate content.

Ability to learn and test the functionalities before producing content.

Proactively report the status and track your issues (bugs) to closure.

Align with the fast-paced release schedules and ensure that the deliverables are completed for release.

Ensure that the content improves and contributes to the user experience.

Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample code

Manage complex documentation projects.

Work cohesively across the teams in different time zones.

Job Requirements :

3- 5 years of experience in Technical Writing.

Experience in XML, HTML, and Markdown.

Experience in working with content management systems (preferably Git-based systems such as Gitlab or Github). Experience in DITA-based tools is a plus.

Desired experience with producing illustrations.

Desired experience with video editing.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute strategic initiatives.

Skilled in establishing high standards of excellence, and stretching abilities to perform to the best capability.

Outstanding written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, EE or equivalent experience

Self-driven and hands-on attitude is a MUST.

Work with a globally distributed team.
